Scheduled Maintenance: February 28th, 2012

This week’s scheduled maintenance is back to the usual schedule of happening every Tuesday of the week. On this Tuesday, Star Wars: The Old Republic servers will be down as BioWare conducts their scheduled maintenance. Unfortunately, this week will not feature a new patch deployment but will instead involve normal maintenance.

Community News

Hello everyone, we wanted to let you know that we will be performing scheduled maintenance for four hours on Tuesday, February 28th, 2012 from 2AM CST (12AM PST/3AM EST/8AM GMT/9AM CET) until 6AM CST (4AM PST/7AM EST/12PM GMT/1PM CET). All game servers and SWTOR.com will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than four hours, but could be extended.

For our new players, this weekly maintenance is done in order to make general improvements and to check performance of the game so that we can continue to provide a consistent, quality experience. Quite often (but not always) after a maintenance period there will be a patch to download. This week there will be no new patch, but we will be performing regular maintenance on our servers and on SWTOR.com.

Next week for 1.1.5 Patch most likely?  If so expect 1.2 middle to end of March.  I bet they are saving some news regarding that for the Guild Meeting Next Week and will release more info then.

So, we can expect 1.1.5 in perhaps a week from tomorrow?

Then we have to go through 1.1.6, 1.1.7, 1.1.8, 1.1.9, then we will get 1.2?

If it takes 2 weeks for each version to come out, that's a good 2.5 months until 1.2.

Or will they skip from 1.1.5 to 1.2?

Basically, don't think of it as version 1 point whatever, like you think of normally with numbers.

First number = Huge release, 1 being the release version, any number above being expansions.
Second number = content release, currently we've had one big content release.
    Third number = version number.

Think of it as version 5, of the first content release within the main release.  You can get only 2 or 3 versions inbefore a new content release, or you can get 20 in (in which case it could be 1.1.20).

Software version numbers generally don't care about going from 1.1.9 to 1.2... I would expect 1.1.5 to be the last 1.1.x if they are going to meet their March timeline for 1.2.

I wish they wouldn't take down the server status page when they take everything down.

That's how you know when your server is back up - if you can load the page, you're ready to play!

$10 says there's a new patch anyway (albeit small).  Guarantee it.
