While the Star Wars: The Old Republc Guild Summit panels were live streamed as they happened, players who were unable to attend or watch live have been waiting for videos of the event to be posted. David Bass made a post on the official forums announcing the availability of the first two panel videos and indicating more videos would be coming this week.
We've launched a new YouTube playlist featuring the Guild Summit panels, which were held on March 5th in Austin, TX. Today we are releasing the Operations/Flashpoints panel and the Player Vs. Player panel, and we'll be posting more next week.
You'll find the playlist for these videos on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF60542CBEE892F02
Since this was our first Guild Summit, we're very interested in hearing your feedback about the entirety of the event (as well as the content within the panels themselves). Let us know your thoughts below!

Posted 4/3/2012 7:47:04 AMI can see why they did not introduce a bounty system when looking at how the open world is shaped up, and illum as well. Even though a bounty system would add a lot to the game, it becomes a money sink that affects other parts of the game. So that means swtor overall wants to balance its money sinks with the content that is worth your ingame money. So hopefully, in the future, when the game has a more developed open world, and money is easier to make at a higher rank, that the high bounties would be affordable by high ranks but still worthwhile for lower ranks, and of course in a more developed system.
As for the not auto facing in pvp, its not useful when overcoming lag and exploiting that. I think the coding for swtor is alright, but previously when i tried dueling marauders I could not target them since my lag was high enough that even though I was reacting to what I was seeing on my screen it did not allow me to register my actions. This was a while ago, and obviously the best solution based on honesty, is to allow players to engage in combat based on what they see as well and registering that, and this also assuming that the lag is not big enough.
However, if a person is running around in small circles, that means they can outrun the time it takes to register from what you see and where they actually are. That is the problem I was facing when I dueled a marauder. I have dueled other marauders before, and when they did not move then I was able to use my superior skill rotation to win, and timing of cc. Even though I do have lag, my cc's do work... most of the time when trying to time the cc to interrupt.
Also about the point about auto facing ruining pvp to be about skill rotation, I personally think that is an exaggeration. Yes, its partially true, but I believe they do not want to change their combat too much and risk ruining it. Since, line of sight tactics still come into play, and imo, that allows for better gameplay than letting a person run around in small circles and exploit other peoples lag to win.
If anything, other than skill rotation, and similar to line of sight tactics, they could have abilities which increase dmg depending on the targets part of their body... for example their back, or even side. However, then they would have to also introduce ways of acknowledging how when one person sees something that it registers that, and does not ignore it similar to how circle strafing makes a person with lag lose.
And since circle strafing is so imba, then playing a melee class that circle strafes should always be the best class especially against laggers, or even playing as a lagger.
Im not sure what balances they have introduced into their game since, but like I said, a long time ago when I tried to duel, I had some issues facing circle strafers and my abilities did not register.
If anyone can confirm how they have changed or updated this situation, since I am keen on knowing. Thanks
edit: I was really hoping to get some input on peoples feedback with dealing with circle strafers with lag or little lag, or even no lag, and how they have managed with it. If anything, share your concerns with circle strafing, and not being able to use abilities on forums which I will browse for this topic. This is a valid concern, and if it is something that is affecting a lot of people then maybe it should be addressed in some way...for example to be a bit more lenient in accepting peoples actions to accommodate for a bit of lag.

Posted 4/5/2012 1:23:34 AMSniper's/GS's have auto facing, and anything Ive ever had casted that is channeled in pvp it auto faces the whole duration. You're problem is you think you can stand still and faceroll anything as a ranged class, which is stupid. If only you realised with maxing out your ability queue window and holding left or right direction you will never miss a cast with someone spinning circles around you, many lamers have done this too me.
