Millenium Nabs World First 16 Man Hard Mode Kills

Europe's Millenium guild successfully cleared SWTOR's new Explosive Conflict Operation for the world first 16 man Hard mode (timestamps). The US guild Condemned is currently three bosses deep on 16 man Hard mode. As a reminder, Nightmare mode difficulty is not available at the time of this posting.

To the guys saying that because (if?) they played and figured things out on the PTS then this isn't a world first, go off and cry in a corner.

1: Bioware selected a variety of top raiding teams to test content for us, not just the guys who are in Millenium

2: Nearly every other MMO also tests content, maybe not as 'exclusively' as these guys had it, but we all know that the raiding teams compete for World Firsts are all over the PTRs etc in other games, so by your reconning they shouldn't count either/

3: It's just a game and a bunch of guys managed to finish the content for another patch very quickly, yay! They can go get on with their lives, while we have fun and play the game...

to be clear, BW cherry-picked the folks who would test the level-capped game play on PTS (some major douche-baggery there in and of itself) and therein lies the differences between those "other games" and this one.  thanks and all that to the guilds who were selected to tune the content for the rest of us (hope they did a good job), but what distinguishes a guild that clears on live with no previous PTS experience from one that had so much time to learn the fights?

yeah, i get it that your post is essentially, "the world's not fair, cry me a river" but the point is that if they were one of those cherry-picked guilds the "honor" is a dubious one.

if playing on the PTS is considered cheating you should be banned for being "clever"

    I have 1 question.

Were they a Guild that was selected to test the Operation out on the PTS?

If yes, This should not count, they had unfair testing time, and time to learn the encounter. BW selected Guilds this wasn't open to everyone. Testers should not be up for World first grabs unless the testing is open to the general public end of story.

    If no, then Grats.

Unfair?  They help test the damn game and assist debugging on the PTS and that make a live server kill... unfair?  WTF?

If a guild has helped the devs on the PTS then I offer them my thanks for their time and enduring the frustration that comes with testing buggy instances.  I also urge any such guild to offer a gesture known in England as 'The Mighty Forks' (a bit like what the Yanks call 'The Bird' only it involves two fingers) to anyone who thinks that makes live server successes 'unfair'.

    i have to agree.

I do agree BW needs to step up their games when it comes to Hard and Nightmare mode encounters. I'm fine with the newly named "Story Mode" being easy for casual gamers but Hard and Nightmare needs to be a challenge. I'd kill for old school MMO raiding difficulty.

I'm not happy. Been playing and paying since early access. Casual play style. Lots of alts across multiple servers. Not a single level 50 character to my name.

I'be got several 45s, a 36, nearly a dozen characters in the level 20 range. I don't even get 7 days of free access that returners get ...

You only have yourself to blame for not getting to 50. With the game having been out for four months you had every chance to get a toon to 50.

I'm not claiming I didn't. I'm saying it shouldn't matter, if they wish to reward their "loyal customers".

I actually play the game as the developers claim they intended. I spend hours contributing to both a wiki resource and a databse project dedicated to SWTOR. I would have a level 50 character by now if I hadn't responded to the developer's request to help on the PTS.

So because I activly support the game community, rather than focusing on my own character progression, I don't qualify as a loyal customer.

    Something's very rotten at Bioware.
