May is a very special month for Star Wars fans. All six feature films were originally released in theaters in May, inspiring fans to create their own holiday in celebration of their favorite space opera. “May The 4th Be With You” has become a popular internet meme over the past few years and has quickly evolved into the “Black Friday” of Star Wars merchandise. Both internet and brick-and-mortar retailers across the globe have latched onto this catchphrase to promote their merchandise and offer fans steep but limited discounts on their wares. The official Star Wars website announced this morning that several Star Wars: The Old Republic retailers are among the list of participants that will be offering special deals in honor of May the 4th.
