Ug, so my server gets to be last on the list of transfers and the only choice is to go to a server with a 20 minute queue time?!  And I was so looking forward to this transfer.  Are you really expecting the population to dwindle that much more that you have to overpopulate them from the get go?

Personally I highly doubt that the que times will be staying for long.  I do expect the populations to stay rather high, but at the same time more people are playing more right now to see what the effect of the server transfers will be.  It is a miniature version of a newly released MMO effect basically.  At this point though the player base is basically stable at least.

I am so much happier after the server transfers.  It's like playing during week one again!

I haven't been following this closely so sorry if this is a common question.  Are they doing transfers before merges, and then doing merges?  Put another way, if you don't transfer just because you can, what happens?  Are you clinging to the lid while the carton is upside-down? 

LMAO love the clinging to the lid comment. I think that is the perfect picture of those staying on their dead server.

The only thing I have seen on this topic is one of the Devs mentioning something about "super servers" then completely quiet on the topic.  Time will tell.

Well, if all the servers are now involved its Interesting and scary at the same time to see how 27 US East - PvP Servers were merged into 2 servers... Fatman and PotF.

Maybe SWTOR lost almost 1.000.000 subs (maybe it has around 700,000 subs, down from 1,700,000) since launch, IMO.

What you guys think?

Since day 1 it seems like their server tech was designed to be very flexible. As long as the servers are capable of launching additional copies of a zone to accomodate a large number of players in one zone, what's really even the point of having so many separate servers? Why not throw eveybody onto one big server?

I'm not saying that subs dropping isn't a factor at all, but I don't think it's the only factor.

Who knows how many they've lost... but it's interesting to look at the number of destination servers vs. total servers and speculate.  It's tempting to say going from a giant list to about 25 (I didn't count exactly) means they've had quite a drop.  But that doesn't tell the whole story, since they overproduced servers and also made destination servers able to handle bigger populations than before.  It's clear as mud, basically.  :)

I understand what your trying to say and I ask you this, does it really matter? Right now the game is as fun as it ws day one there are tons of players to do group content. The players that exsisted pre server xfer are core players that will probably be playing for a ong time, which means the population should only get better from here. IMHO I believe players who left will start to come back idk how many or how fast but I do believe it will happen at some level. Which is great for me, means more ppl to play with.

Its so easy to pug groups right now and that's even without a LFG tool, that is also at 2am (central Time) in the morning.

So I guess the real question is here is how many people will come back now that the game is ALIVE?
