Patch Notes 1.3.0b 6/29/12

An update was applied during maintenance today to correct the issue with empty augmentation slots in pre-existing gear.

Patch Notes

Items

  • Augment slots in items crafted before 1.3 that have not been manually upgraded by players are now the appropriate tier based on the level of the item (if no augments are installed) or the level of the augment that is currently installed in the augment slot.

yeah - if I remember corectly that is what was SUPPOSED to happen with the original 1.3 Patch...better late then never, but I'm sure a lot of people spent a lot of creds to fix it.

    Too late for me >.<

Yesterday night I had to re-augment 4 pieces of my Battlemaster set that were previously "critical augmented".

As a software developer I understand that its hard to come up with a piece of software 100% bug free, but there are tools that help developer to control what they are doing like SVN, SRS, etc.

There is also something called Use Case: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_case

The thing is simple, the team have a meeting and someone asks: “What the hell is going to happen with those previuosly ‘critical augmented’ items that our fans have created back in 1.2?

That is it. Really. Is it that hard to predict? Seriously… but Ok BW, once more...

I will see if I create a ticket, but whatever… I can get those credits back in a coupe of days doing dailys…

And you know what, some times looks like those guys does not play their own freaking game… and THAT is what scares the hell outta me!!

You you could of waited a few days like everyone else knowing it was a bug.

When you don't know how long it will take for them to fix, or fix at all. I don't see how your point even matters. Kudo's to BW for this quick fix to a minor problem.

I personally used aprox 10 MK-6 kits on already augmented gear due to this. No biggie at all, glad in fact I don't have to trash my open augmented shells.

Sure... or maybe BW could have coded it right in the first place... and maybe Hitler could have been killed in the WWI... and maybe Bin laden could have died back in 1998, but Clinton/CIA let the oportunity go... by now I guess you know what I mean... and by the way, I didn't knew that was a known bug, we just get used to overcome those bugs... after all 7 months having to deal with things like that, we learn... I dont know if BW does learn, but we do.

I really hate Main Assets 1. I patched 1.3 just fine. Then I open the launcher yesterday to get the 1.3.0a patch, it starts doing Main Assets 1. After two loops I close it and go play TF2 for a bit, then turn it back on before sleep. 8 hours later, it's STILL looping on Main Assets 1. It usually stops after 2 or 3, but it's doing it infinitely now. I guess I'll never be playing TOR, and BW won't compensate me for all the hours I can't play because their launcher won't stop looping on an 11gb file I already have.

    Sorry, just ranting, annoyed.

I had some problem like that when I use PTS.

What I did? Uninstalled the game completely, download the .exe from BW's site and re-install the game again.

DO NOT USE PTS, DO NOT USE PTS!!!

I keep hearing people talk about looping and what not of the "main assets" thing.. But honestly I've never had that issue. Everything's always patched for me perfectly.

I posted in a thread on official forums, and sent an e-mail to support@swtor.com linking the thread and re-iterating my issues, along with an attachment of my log files from the day with the 8 hours of Main Assets 1 looping. The thread GM suggested some router port opening stuff that I haven't done because my dad handles the router and has been busy all weekend. The e-mail GM said for me to reboot into Safe Mode with Networking and open the launcher and let it patch then reboot into normal mode and open launcher and Repair and hope it works(if not, I'll have to reply and attach the logs of the patcher from after that).

I HATE to reboot, I do it maybe once a month if I absolutely have to. I'm very OCD so each reboot has me opening a dozen programs(including 6 IMs with IM tabs in a specific order), so reboots are very inconvenient. Plus I should not have to reboot into safe mode for a goddamn game patch.

This game is so buggy sometimes. I have to deal with periodic(once a month at least when I play regularly) computer freezes, memory hogging like no other game(20% of my 8gb of memory used just by sitting on my ship after just opening the game, really?), plus the looping of downloading/installing an 11gb file every time there's a tiny game patch? I'm going through my "falling out of love with TOR" thing that I get into every other time the game does something like this. Very conflicting since I love it fully and have been following it since announcement date back in Oct'2008. It's like loving a girl you've crushed on for years, only to be beaten by her constantly once you finally become a couple.

Sigh. That's the end of my blog entry. Maybe I should've made a thread on this on the DH forums. :P
