Gamescom Interview Round Up

Since we did not compile a wrap up post for this year's Gamescom as we usually do, we thought it still important to have a place where our readers can find all of the interviews done by the community. While we did interview Gabe Amatangelo at the event, there are more out there from the community at large worth checking out as well. Contained below are the ones we were able to find. If you find others, let us know and we will update the post.

great interview from the buffed.de guy!

    couple of key points:

-Bromberg all but said Zoeller and the rest were shown the door (like i said).

-Bromberg states a new emphasis on multi player/acknowledges how expensive and difficult it is to implement cinematic story-driven content in any kind of timely manner (e.g. expect infrequent continuation of class stories).  this illustrates the futility and terrible game direction of TOR's emphasis on the leveling game vs. level cap game play.  it was never sustainable and the huge disconnect between what players experience in the leveling game compared to the end game has cost this game players.  the question remains-then why do it that way?  it seems gimmicky to me at best, and disingenuous at worst.  all concerns i raised on this very site (and was trolled for) prior to game launch.

-Bromberg, "We didn't update the game fast enough."  no truer words have ever been spoken. i seem to recall JO and the rest stating how aware they were of the maxim "never having a second chance to make a first impression"...hrmm

Thanks for the summary, especially the buffed.de interviews have been very interesting.

    Thanks a lot

While I agree with you that the interviewer had good questions, the GM's responses were quite lacking. Not sure why they can't just be honest with themselves. Maybe its just part of the politics and a real answer is not acceptable? It leaves a bitter taste listening to the canned responses and palpable beating around the bush.

I actually thought they gave quite an insight in the mechanism which are working behind the front. I'm not quite as convinced that f2p is going to work as well as they are but I share the view that anything which opens up a game to a broader playerbase is a good thing. Now as long as we stay far far away from p2win it's all ok. I'm going to stay a subscriber as long as this game is live and as long as it's reasonable. However, if you've seen the amount of interviews... .I guess it's kinda boring to answer the same answers over and over again. I for example was very much interested about non group/ progress features like swoop races and card games inside the casinos and as we heard that they still consider it. Further, as the gamona interview showed, you get more information about the cartel coins than in any other interview. But also as we heard that "your" class story is finished, it isn't for the Republic nor for the Empire so are we going to see only 2 stories instead of 8 different stories?

Great Idea to provide such a round up for all Interviews done at gamescom 2012.

We at gamona.de did two Interviews related to SWTOR.

gamona.de Interview with Jeff Hickman (in English)

OldRep.de Interview with Lars Malcharek (German Community Lead) and our partnerguild Legacy of Matukal (in German)

We would be very happy to see our coverage in you list :)

    Thanks allot!
