More Quickbar Slots Coming

While it may not be the biggest news, you may remember us hoping for more Quickbar slots to  come for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Well, they're on their way by the end of the year.

I talked to Damion Schubert and asked him this question, and he let me know that additional quickslots are in the works and are slated to make it in before the end of the year. I don't have a more specific timeline, but it's something that we do have plans for!

For those that asked for them, it should come as a welcome addition. Yay more interface options!

I find your lack of addons (swtor) disturbing

It's about time.  I simply cannot understand why they didn't add more slots right after everyone's initial feedback.  Maybe their UI code was too inflexible, or maybe the inflexiblity was from a "design decision" for art's sake.  Either way this has been a sore spot for me.

I got used to using a subset of abilities like everyone else, but what irked me until the end was the lack of room for the "fun" items they wanted to "reward" me with (pets, social items, what-have-you).  And just where was I supposed to put those on my limited real estate, or did they expect me to dig through a couple pages of character screens each time I wanted to use them?  I just ended up ignoring that whole aspect of the game (and rolling my eyes whenever new fluff came out).

Wow, and it'll only take to the end of the year to add a few more UI slots. They're just churning out the "content" every 6 weeks, huh?

Pff this is ridiculous, it wont be long, that the only thing i see is the UI and not the game itself.

Allthough its simple there is some abilitys, i just ignore them, and i never use them. mostly those legacy abilitys they are just useless.

The fact that 48 actionbar slots alone isn't enough tells you just how absurd the amount of abilities we have in this game is. And we haven't even hit the first expansion yet...

Play a merc. We have 5 keys =p

Tracer, Unload, Heatseeker, Railshot, Rapid Shots. Full rotation, 5 keys. /win

That's the same with pretty much all of the classes. The rest of the abilities are all situational.

For me I only use 2 bars for class skills and then the other 2 bars with misc stuff. The only thing that screws it up is if I spec for healing then it gets complicated.

what would be cool is a 8 slot quick bar pops up when you use your heroic moment for legacy skills

    I second this

I'd prefer they make a skills pass and remove some of the clutter  and skill bloat that so that we don't need 6 bars of abilities. Combine some abilities, rework and remove some others. However that's a pipe dream based on EA's low committment to this game.

That way we end up with another cataclysm.. Oversimplification, No thanks.

While I agree that there are way more abilities that you do not use most of the time because there is not way to bind them all to something easily reached (unless you have one of those freaky mouses with gazillion buttons that get pressed when you do not need it), I think that oversimplifying would be very bad thing.

Or keybind modifier macros. (eg: 1 = action 1, shift-1 = action 2) While this can already be done, it doesn't free up a hotbar slot.

    Thank the maker!

Extra bars = the ability to setup 2 different UIs - 1 for PVP and 1 for PVE without having to sacrifice current space
