Game Update 1.4: Terror From Beyond Coming Tomorrow

Moments ago, BioWare announced that Game Update 1.4: Terror From Beyond is on its way to release early tomorrow morning. Along with the announcement came a new scheduled maintenance post that replaces the postponement of Tuesday's regular window.

Hello everyone, we wanted to let you know that we will be performing scheduled maintenance for six hours on Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 from 2AM CDT (12AM PDT/3AM EDT/8AM BST/9AM CEST/5PM AEST) until 8AM CDT (6AM PDT/9AM EDT/2PM BST/3PM CEST/11PM AEST). All game servers will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than six hours, but could be extended.

Travel to the Gree controlled planet of Asation, where you’ll join others in an intense series of battles leading up to a final face-off against an unyielding enemy. It’s up to your team to close the Ancient Hypergate, opened by the deadly and malicious Dread Masters, and destroy a galactic goliath before it destroys the galaxy! Learn more about Game Update 1.4 here!

After this maintenance is over, restart the game launcher to patch to Game Update 1.4.

Not excited at all. 1.1 1.2 1.3 all had cool stuff but this? Some changes here and there. New operation (not that i did any of the other operations). Ilum is still abandoned. Playable races is still really weak. No chat bubbles, game optimization is still bad, replay value is still bad. And these are just my complaints.

Use to defend this game a lot all the way through character transfers. But that was short lived. Game is stale. My love for the game has gone from LS 4 to DS 3.

Expect more of this type of stuff.  They've already said you'll get new content every 6 weeks or so, but it would be "a new FP, a new WZ".  I wouldn't expect any massive content updates and you may only see something updated that you like once or twice a year.

Probably, but also people should just take a break. It makes the game more fun to come back to when you see something you want to try.

I actually look forward to this operation, but my only concern is learning the mechanics and finding competent enough people to do it with. I dont have time for trial and error, and if there was an easy mode to just try the story I would do that just because I actually dont have the time. If I did, then I would enjoy the challenge.

Also big game updates will come like a new planet, or the secret space project, or mini games like they said they were planning. This stuff is coming, and with a new race, and more character slots, and hopefully quick character lvling, this should open up an interest in not just new content but playing alts.

So yea... taking a break. Read a book, help the family etc... then eventually some me time down the road can be with swtor and be something that can feel like a fresh start.
