Posted 10/11/2012 9:59:44 AMThis is going to upset all the people who expect everyone to agree that TOR was the "worst game ever!"
Oh well, they've made their fair share of mistakes, but I can't argue with the rewards they did get. At every point along the way it's been a better game for it's time and money investment than anything else I've played.
I just hope F2P can bring in the kind of money that would really cut it lose, because the design principles behind this game have it heading in the perfect direction to entertain me indefinitely. It's just moving so slowly right now since all their funding was cut...

Posted 10/11/2012 1:12:32 PMimo, ch 3. should have been an expansion, and there should have been more end game options.
For example for loot dropped in FP/Raids that are rare and ultra rare with more unique looks. And it adds a different goal to players to get loot, and also creates an economy through that with crafting possibly... and also reduce modding.
More species for character creation.
Pazaak.
Open world pvp.
I think if they had those things in the game for launch with the existing content, but less story, it would have done better by later introducing the 3rd chapter as something to add more retention to the game.
I believe this to be more beneficial since playing alts is a big part of the game, and to justify that is to actually make the story shorter so people want to try other things, but also give them more end game so they way to stay to play more.
Its a simple concept. And story is what brings people back to the game, the problem was they put too much story content and too much side questing which becomes a bigger issue with alts. Just my opinion.
However for those playing swtor as kotor, they will disagree with me... even though there is no pazaak and swoop racing. But I believe for mmo players it would have been better like that, since I see a lot of people seem worn out by MMOs and play them just for the content with specific intentions such as end game, or only class story... and the problem with swtor with playing alts is that the end game does not have the retention its suppose to in terms of MMOs and the class story goes through too much side questing.
They should have released ch. 3 with 1.2, 6 months later.

Posted 10/11/2012 9:47:59 AMAre you trying to get a troll response? Best MMO? MMOs are many things, and they can't be the best for everyone.
And I am a pvper at heart, and would like more pvp, so while I can agree swtor imo, is the best MMO, I prefer it if there was more pvp. And for that reason, due to me liking swtor as a standard, I am not interested in any MMOs unless they offer something on par with swtor quality, art style, but with the pvp elements, day/night cycle, housing etc etc which I doubt would happen since swtor cost 100s of millions to offer the quality they have without pvp I would want, and for someone to offer the same quality with pvp on a large scale, would mean a bigger investment which I doubt would ever happen.

Posted 10/11/2012 1:53:45 PMAs a pvper, don't forget HUTTBALL! A friend and I have been speculating off and on about how other MMOs, mainly WoW, could integrate something similar to Huttball. We decided on a Gnome/Goblin-themed battleground. Huttball is one of the best things TOR has done for MMO PvP in my opinion.
