I thought it was hilarious that they ducked the question about how many subs SWTOR still has. I'm guessing it's easily under 400k at this point. I doubt that F2P will help much.

Forbes wrote an article on Swtor in Aug I believe, they deemed the game a flop. Reason is Swtor invested just under 500 Mil to make the game and the first year's return was far under what anyone had expected as I hear it. So far it's estimated that Swtor still has about 1 mil subs and is only bringing in just under 200 mil for the year and while all the investors expected to make their money back with a profit it seems that they didn't and hope to break even by year two by adding the Cartel system and our current in game subs.

Where is the number? I don't see a drop mentioned anywhere.
  • #8 sado

There was no drop mentioned in sub numbers during the call. The only mention to sub numbers was that they are "stable."

I care about this. I also care about the acquiring of lucasarts.

  • #3 Katsuragisama

Judging by the transcript it looks like they were scared to even mention SW:TOR beyond restating that it is set to go F2P this fall.

  • #4 chronium

Well nothing else happened other than another drop in subscription numbers.
