Game Update 1.6: Elite War Hero Gear Preview

With Game Update 1.6 hitting the Public Test Server today, an assortment of new Elite War Hero Gear came along with it. In order to convey them in image form, we're posting them here. As with everything in a time sensitive manner, we may add and update this post later with new material. With that, see the image below for the Elite War Hero Gear Preview.

As BioWare mentioned before, the look remains somewhat unchanged from the previous release baring some minor differences in color.

Update: All item previews are now online.

I can't believe - it's the same ugly design, just a different color. The Cartell Shop is full of recolored old crap. New Tier Sets also. I think there are no designer and developer left to do a better job. This makes me sad and angry! It could be a so much better game!

Im not sure whats going on, but there seems a lot of feeding the masses approach with BW.

    1. They always claim that they deliver quality, and this already sets in out minds some sort of logic as to explain the delays. This explains the delays without knowing anything to peons.

    2. Then they say they want to release content in a quick timeline. We hear several different timelines and different results. Now, it seems the strategy to meet these deadlines is to release content separately and possibly even slower than before to at least meet the every 6 week deadline.

    3. They dont seem to show an understanding of what demographics want in an MMO. They made thier game into a themepark grind and seem surprised that they are struggling, since even WoW as massive as a following as that was nearly tanked in its hay days, but was born at the right place and right time... but at least BW 'adapted' to F2P but without properly developing content to be exclusive enough for the f2p as in customization being the most important ... or...

    4. Said they have mastered their engine and its tools and can make content quicker.. and therefore other than meeting thier own deadlines... they could have released content to keep the game p2p with a cash shop... but release content that brings back subs.

Questions is... does BW know how to make thier MMO into an MMO to draw in large crowds?

If the game is f2p shouldnt they be opening new servers? It seems there is a problem with thier design since now it could mean that f2p players are hindered (which is normal) by not only a que to join a server but... also the most crucial information which could indicate a limit to how many f2p players can actually join the handful of servers that are up.

Unless marketing was not good at spreading the word of f2p... but I guess the word will go around... yet... the problem they face is how there could be servers of concentrated f2p players if new ones were created. That could be a major problem... and in that case I recommend them other than making the right  kind of content to bring in new and keep old players... is that they can make the GTN not server restricted... this is for obvious reasons but also since cash shop items can be traded on the GTN which gives it access to new servers as well.

Anyways... im still waiting for pazaak, swoop racing... the secret space project... and I am really surprised so far that f2p for a SW game with good looking graphics does not cause BW to create new servers....

They warned you in advance that there wouldn't be a new visual difference in this set of armor. BioWare heard the complaints about it last time and will get a new look for future sets but since this update was so close, they couldn't get to a new set look.

Im not sure how this even gets past their drawing board.

They make their pvp about gear grinds, and it hurts competition by making it too competitive for little rewards. Little rewards as in playing in the same few instances, and no actual competitions (no solo rank, and team pvp rank has no purpose at the moment) ... and now there is no different looking gear.

Whats up with this logic? Am I wrong to think this is more work than fun with the current content for pvp?

I really hope this starts to turn things around for this game.  I understand it has had its difficulties growing forward but it seems that they are truly making effort to fix all the things that are bothering people.  I love the star wars IP i think this game is fun i use to play SWG pre CU and yes that was my pinnacle experience with MMO's as well but this game has a lot of potential to be awesome.  Give it time to grow and instead of badgering all the people trying to fix it with negativity.  We need to be better consumers and push for a more positive community and i think BW will respond better as well to.  with that being said may the force be with you !

Same ugly crap.More gear grind and a bigger gear gap then we alredy have, well if we are lucky the last people who pvp will leave when any new 50 will be toast  against a WH EWH.Damd bioware suck at gear progression.Takes 20 times as long to gear up in pvp in swtor then pve.

What do you want it to look like ???  Then seriously why don't you go and describe what you think would be so cool ?   Better yet why dont you draw some and send it to the team at BW and see if they can implement it ?
