FPS issues

Alright then, a history of this issue.

When I first began to play this game it had no lags, I levelled up my bounty hunter with NO issues what I can remember that is. Though, for a while ago it began to lag significanty! I have cleaned my processor and computer on the inside alot of times and that is not the problem. Tried all "solutions" here on the forums to get rid of it, but nothing works. Tested all possible nvidia drivers but nothing works. How I describe my lag wouldn't be game breaking but very frustrating and depressing.

For 2 months ago I, after one year of gathering bought an expensive computer with GTX 570 as graphic card, intel core i-5, four cored 2500k. 8 GB free ram at the moment and a good processor, as well as coolermaster. The computer is not overheating, nor is the CPU or physical memory. The thing is, when I enter warzones I can drop down to 30-35 from 100 which I remember going around the first weeks with the game. Sometimes I have 110 FPS still though, but when I move into new areas, inte combat, drawn my lightsaber, enter warzones and all that, my FPS decreases. When I go around running its 110 FPS when I stand still sometimes. 100 most of the time though, in like Taris. When I drawn my lightsaber it drops to 69 and back to 100 fast which causes a lag spike. Same when I move, and go into combat. This has really decreased the level of my health and it sounds crazy indeed, but I really bought this computer to get rid of all problems. I really love the gaming and it's the only bright thing in my life at the moment being.

So, all I require is that someone could help me fix this and I will reward this person with eternal gratitude and 1000 hugs. And a cake.

I don't want comments as in "You no lifer, go get a life outside" or "Stop cry" and all that. I am here once for all to solve this problem, so please, if you don't want to help me, go away. If you want to help me, then I'll co-operate with you and do everything to fix this problem. There is an option to reinstall windows 7 but I rather not, really, I rather not. No, I got no viruses.

Battlefield 3 runs very smooth on ultra, so does Skyrim, well it can lag a liiiiiiiittle in Skyrim in some areas, but not much Is this my computer, is this nvidia or is this bioware?

Reason why I think it's me is because people with worse graphic cards and equal graphics cards is actually getting this game to run smooth, and so am I, well, sometimes. I run on everything high, but when I turn down Shadow and Anti Aliasing my standard FPS when outside warzones are still 100-110 and when I move it drops and do stuff, it drops and returns as usual, so that is not a solid solution. Thanks for reading this and in case you're trying to help me find a solution, thanks alot!

    Greetings coolsamme,

If you are experiencing issues in-game which results in degraded video or sound quality, please check the following steps to try and resolve your issue:
    1. You should make sure that you have the latest version of DirectX installed on your system. For further details please check here.

    2. Check that your Graphics card and Sound card have the most recent drivers installed. For instructions on how to update your Graphics card please see here, for Sound cards please see here.

    3. Check that you have installed all of the Windows Updates for your Operating System. This is important for system reliability and program compatibility.

    4. If you are not running an Solid State Drive please make sure your system hard drive and SWTOR Hard drive have been defragged recently. You can check this by typing "Disk Defragmenter" into your Windows run bar. Having the SWTOR files fragmented can lower FPS and decrease performance.

    5. Check the minimum specifications of the game, to determine whether your computer may experience difficulties running the game.

    6. Reducing the in-game graphics settings may help to improve the performance of the game.

    7. You can try closing down any unnecessary applications that may be running in the background. You can check the applications tab and processes tab in Task Manager to see what programs are currently running.

    8. Resetting your User Interface (UI) may help to clear graphical issues you are experiencing. To reset your UI please hold down the “Ctrl” key and press “U”. You will need to do this twice to fully reset your UI. Restarting your client (or simply logging out and then back in again) should also do the same.

    9. Please check the Server Lag (latency) icon to the left of your mini-map while in-game. This will display the current quality of the connection to game server. If this attribute shows that there is a poor connection, then your issue may be related to latency. Please check this article for helpful tips on connection troubleshooting.
Thank You for playing Star Wars™: The Old Republic™
