So I am grouping with my wife and things are going fine. She tanks as Sith Jugg and I heal as Operative medic. We have refined our CC coordination and add players to our groups as needed but primarily just group with guildies and use Vent. Game is very fun for us now and we are taking our time at lvl 24. My quesiton is for an Operative healer you are given two similiar suits of gear on rewards, Cun + Endurance and Endurance +Cunn, the first stat being the 'smaller' of the two. I have been selecting the ones with smaller endurance and more cunning as it seems my tech healing bonus goes up with more Cunning. I am also biomed so I always have the best stims up along with implants.
Here is where I am left wondering. On some of the Adrenals you can get +200 Crit or +200 Power or +200 Alacrity and so on. These you can pop and will last for 15 seconds. I am at loss as to which is the most effective for a heal clas let alone for a Sith Tank. Do I want Power or Crit? Does the tank want Power or Crit? What about augments in gear that give you a choice between +power or +crit? What is the difference and which one (if any) is must useful to our two classes we play with (Operataive medic+Sith Jugg)?
Personally, being a medic myself, i think Medics will want Cunning>Alacrity>Power. Unlike other games, and with a limited resource system going from 60 to 100 energy (usually going below 60 = bad medic) you will want those reactive heals to go off as soon as possible instead of waiting a long time and having the target die midcast. Don't bother with Crit, even tho it is nice to have it Ala and Power still give better results. I may be wrong ofc, i haven't healed properly in hardmodes. And keep both power and alacrity adrenals. Popping a Power Adrenal and going on a Kolto Probe spree is awesome, while Alacrity Adrenal is good when you need to get off alot of long cast heals.
Operative medic comes in two flavours as you level. Pre kolt-probe ( and surgical, nano tech ) you will be using dart and infusion a great deal as well as diagnostic scan for mitigation purposes. Alacrity serves great function during these levels as it will decrease both casting time and time spent channeling.
Once your level thirty or so you should be looking at stacking crit/surge as individual ticks can crit on kolto probe for added TA's ( and in turn more surigcal probes + TA healing buff ) as well as added energy regen through the crits off diagnostic scan.
Your heals you become more focused on instants so Alacrity is almost useless at that point. Crit for adrenals is the way to go although I'm sure you'll start to get diminishing returns on the stat weight values of crit at some point where power might be a better option.
If your tanking, she should definatly be going for the +cunning over +endurance. If your tanking you should be going for +endurance over +Strength. As for adrenals for you their are +END/+def ones high up should should look into.
From looking through the Medic talents it looks like crit is your friend, it gives you energy back and at later levels crit heals will heal for even more than they do now. Power would be your second best stat, as it provides flat throughput. Alacrity is pretty meh, it's only good for if you use a lot of channeled abilities (which you don't).
For your wife and her Juggernaut, when you can make her armor adrenals those will be what she will want to use. Until then the best one of those three to use is power.
Armor adrenals for the win, they also provide defense in blue quality.
Until you have to heal for a long time and run the risk of dipping too low on energy, I would say Power Adrenals. It gives you a benefit with every cast or attack, and if you don't need the energy recovery from critting, then crit isn't that awesome (even with 200 crit you have plenty chance to not see a single crit in the 15 seconds). If you do run low on energy, then crit for the longevity.
I'm also a Medic and I almost always take Power and more Cunning. Power will give you reliable, consistent healing numbers. Gambling on your critical hit chance is just not something that I like to do. Alacrity is what makes your channeled abilities like Kolto Injection & Kolto Infusion take a smaller amount of time to complete. This may become important in Operations and endgame Flashpoints, but I think that Power is the better choice for just regular gameplay.
Alacrity can also make you burn through energy, if you're not careful. I tend to get a little reckless with my energy when I can dish out heals so quickly.
As for the Juggernaut, I go with Power as well. I think that critical rating is something more for my Shadow or my Vanguard (Tactics, not Shield Specialist). Again, it's more about consistency than the gamble. My Vanguard is looking to cause big damage, so she would appreciate some critical rating to boost her attacks occasionally. My Juggernaut wants to keep up her threat, so she'll want to be constantly putting out the biggest numbers that she can.
