Which one has more entertainment value for a playthrough on youtube?

  • #2 Kraxis

It is simply more fun to watch lightsabers swinging around rather than a constant barrage of lightning. It doesn't mean the class is more fun to play for yourself of course (playing with lightning is actually quite fun for the player). And an Assassin AC Inq should also prove interesting to watch. So really, take the option you want yourself.

    ok thanks :)

Inquisitor, by far.  Dont get me wrong I really enjoyed them all, but when I played an Inquisitor I made it to level 15 in one day.  It was that much fun.

I've got a BH up to level 45 atm, and i'm switching my main to an Inquisitor, but honestly bro, there are a ton of playthrough videos already out there. Try a smugler or something.

I played Inquisitor to lvl 21 (Balmorra) and then started a Marauder which is now 26 (Tatooine). So far I can say that the Inquisitor lacks manipulation options big time. I play her somehow as a fanatic really really dark side character which doesn't care about anybody else but herself and eats children for breakfast. Marauder is rather tricky... yes you can go the same way but also you can for example let random republic person live which will help you later which is kinda funny, a republic soldier helping a sith against another sith... nice. There is much more manipulation, much more politics. One of the quests on Korriban in the beginning, before you start doing stuff for your first Trainer, is pretty much what the Warriror class is about. Yes you can kill all 3 victims but also not.

I'll look forward to play my Inquisitor as soon as possible but first I want to finish my Marauder. I also plan to have each "Class" from the Imperium side so I will play each Class Story twice but I cannot bring myself to make too many lightside choices... luckily there are gifts. (I would want to turn Vette so much....)

That depends. If we stay within the confines of Korriban then the Inquisitor has that interrogation. If oyu go full DS then yes it is unfulfilling, but since the other options are not directly LS then it should be pretty clear that chances are that they will lead to more options. That way you can convince the target you are his friend, then end up roating him like a cricket when you are done. In fact since my Inquisitor is going full time LS (with a spatter of DS when it is clear the LS is counterproductive, she certainly does hate people who tries to kill her), I have experienced a lot of surprises along the way.

I haven't tried the sith warrior at any length but compared to other class stories, the Jedi Knight and the Bounty Hunter, the Inquisitor's is pretty awful. Not to spoil it, but you do seem to spend your class quest from 10-30 in a rather pointless way. It gets good on Nar Shadda and then good again at level 30. It continues to be quite good from 30-50 but it's not that good, mostly because the villain is just not that threatening. Further, the companions are kind of boring and superficial.

As for my endgame experience as a lightning sorcerer. It's okay, I do fantastic aoe damage which really speeds up trash runs in hardmode flashpoints but for bosses I just calculated out a reasonably short rotation and rinse and repeat it. In light of all this, I am currently mostly playing on an alt when I'm not doing endgame stuff with my guild.

Your tank companion as Inq is way more cool than your companions with the Warrior.  I prefer the play style of the marauder to the play style of the Sorc (and I have a Guardian and a Shadow as well) - so personally I like the warrior better.  I mean, dual light sabers!  That means two!!!  (best color combo is red/blue or dual purple) ;)

Vette is cooler and omg Jaesa is so so dark if you play dark.

@Kraxis in which way does the Inquisitor have "this" interrogation? It doesn't belong to the class quest (if you talk about the jedi, it's available for both classes) and I don't want to have to play my Inqisitor "light" just to get a more interesting story. Bit more like Thana?! on Taris and I would be happy. Also Darth Spears or whatever is her name... I wanted to kill her the first second I was assigned to her because her hole personality smells like weakness which needs to be eradicatet!! :-P

In my opinion, both Sith classes are subpar.  I really haven't enjoyed either of them.  I almost like playing my Warrior, but I prefer my Knight at every turn.  I've got my Warrior up to 17 now, but I gave up on my Inquisitor at about level 8.  I knew I wasn't going to like it was quite correct.  The lightning got really old really quick.

Why do you enjoy a mirror class over the other? Storywise with lvl 8 or 17 you got exactly 0 insight

It just has a different feel to it, in my opinion.  The Inquisitor just uses lightning all the time.  There's no variety and I find it exceptionally boring, which I knew that I would.  The Warrior just swings her lightsabre lazily and I don't like it very much.  My Knight swings her lightsabre with precision and focus whereas my Warrior makes it seems like I'm bothering her.  I think the developers were going for a "power over speed" look, but I don't think that they achieved that.

As for the story, I haven't really gotten into either, but you are correct to say that my level hasn't been enough to truly grasp it.  Generally speaking, I don't like the Sith, so I doubt I'll really enjoy the story that much anyway.  I love my Consular's story, though.

Hell, play both to 50 then decide.  Yeah, it takes time, but you can help the second character you level along by loading up on massive credits each day from your 50.  It's what I'll be doing, because leveling up and having "just" enough credits to get speeder training ranks as they came along kinda sucked.
