The Smuggler Short Story

    The Old Republic: Smuggler's Vanguard

Hahaha anyone else think the Smuggler short story is the entire summed up version of the Smuggler story on Ord Mantel excluding all of the separatist stuff?

Your ship and cargo get stolen by your contact and you go off and try to take it back. 100% the same so far so it's more then likely that by the time you're ready to leave the planet you'll end up stealing a better more advanced and possibly a bigger ship.

edit: Instead of stealing the ship from a ship manufacture you will most likely steal the ship from a separatist base.

    I could see that.

The Jedi also seems like a plausible companion (Han and Luke).

I can buy that. In fact, I hope your suspicions prove correct Chronium.

Oooh.... Good point. I hadn't really thought of force users being companions for non-force users, but it's totally plausible. And it would be really awesome. I'm really intrigued to see how the companions will work with the smugglers.

    *** SPOILER ***

I love that the Smuggler starts out with a ship, which is then promptly stolen. All the other classes must acquire or earn a ship, while the Smuggler just needs to reclaim their pride and joy. Okay, maybe other classes like the Bounty Hunter will be the same, but above all this makes sense for the Smuggler. How could the Smuggler even be a smuggler without a ship to smuggle things in?

I can see a force user being a companion to the Smuggler.

this is one i've thought would be the most likely along with a smuggler/ wookie (tank) combo since companions were annouced.

It also makes sence that the smuggler starts with a ship, as mentioned above how else would they smuggle anything

I allready see loot scenarios over some random lightsaber drop... "Jedi: WHY DID YOU PRESS NEED?" "Smuggler: BECAUSE MY COMPANION CAN USE IT"

I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, do that. Unless the guy was a total @xxhat and he really deserved it. That PC would have to seriously piss me off for me to do something like that though. However, you're probably right. It will happen all the time.

I have an incredibly strong distaste for people who try to use roleplaying to justify their poor behavior.

Not saying anything about you in particular Bara, just people who try to pull stuff like that in general REALLY get on my nerves.  If they're going to be a loot whore they could at least be a man about it and admit it.

it was merely a lighthearted "Pirates of the Caribbean" reference, meant for amusement - nothing more.  I do not, nor shall I ever condone Loot Ninjas.
