I suppose I should have participated in my own question. If Commando is the heavy guns and tank and Vanguard is the smaller arms Trooper, then I am Vanguard.
Actually i think the Vanguard will have the big-weapon arsenal since the word "Vanguard" for me, makes me think of a guy who stands his ground gunning down the enemy with his big lazer minigun.
Commando is all about getting the stuff done fast, so he'd be the small-weapon arsenal, also the E3 video confirms this theory so far, but i could of course be wrong :)

Cool. Either way, I am the assault rifle guy instead of the heavy guns guy.
Quote from flem1 It seems rather bizarre for the guy with the huge gun to do less DPS.
Good point there flem1, but we actually dont know if both ACs will have all weapons avaliable and furthermore, we dont know if the weapons will affect anything abilitywise
I really hope they don't lock each role into using a certain weapon type. They have alluded to that a little bit with the Jedi/Sith AC descriptions, but do we have any hard evidence one way or the other?
I was hoping that Trooper would be able to fill the tanking role from the very beginning, but if I have to carry a heavy weapon for that, then count me out.
You don't PhoR. The data at the top of this topic is incorrect info, that we had corrected today with the Dev Corner in the Fan Friday. Vanguard tanks with an assault rifle, Commando DPSes with a heavy gun.

Commando Heavy Blaster Cannon Grenades Ranged DPS
Vanguard Blaster Rifle Energy Shields and Defense Tank
I'm actually a little sad that I won't be able to use the big gun when I tank. I don't think it's a deal breaker, but it's making me look at being a jedi knight again. I think it will come down to the story differences.

Posted 8/21/2010 1:46:50 AMI have fantasies of being a Clone Trooper/Shepard hybrid, so the tank with an assault rifle is a dream. Vanguard all the way!

Posted 8/21/2010 4:01:49 AMVanguard. Tanking is much more appealing to me than DPS.
