Ashara

Maybe it's just me, or is anyone else annoyed that when you first acquire Ashara that she only has one lightsaber despite the fact that 1.  she is a Sentinel thus has dual wield proficiency and 2.  Point 1 is proven by the fact she assists you in one quest as a non controllable NPC and has 2 sabers during said quest/encounter.

I think this infuriated me moreso due to the fact that I had gone through 5-6 different moddable lightsabers up to that point and had vendored off all of the ones I wasn't using.  Even though she is a melee class, it's a matter of swapping the mods out for the desired stats.

Summary:  Keep a spare moddable lightsaber handy in your cargo bay so that you don't get stuck like me with a companion that starts off gimped.  Note:  I have managed to get her a second saber, but it was akin to reaching around one's butt to get to one's elbow...

Just had to vent a bit.  :P

I just an old lightsaber i had and swapped out the willpower mods for strength.  The worse part of it all she comes with a blue color crystal.  It is useless if you are darkside.  I'm not sure if LS/DS effects your companions ability to have different color crystals.

I read somewhere else (don't recall where exactly) that you can equip companions with items that match your alignment, so if you are DS you can equip Ashara with a lightsaber that requires DS.  Cheapest and safest solution would be to farm one up through a low level FP and mod it up.  I used the saber I got from the class quest after I received a better saber from a group quest on Taris (and again, I forget which one :p).

Yeah I'm DS V and she's using All DS sabers and crystals. the weird part was I tried to give her a LS saber and it said she didn' thave the proper alignment. Curious if this is a bug or if their alignment is really only whatever yours is.

Yeah, it's weird.  I suppose it's there for simplicity's sake, but then again I never found it hard to bring up the companion tab on the character sheet and look at their alignment there (which has all of them at 0, of course).

I went through 5 levels with her out (because she's a pleasant companion, unlike andronikos or khem) before I realized she could wear 2.

Or just buy a random green saber off the weapon vendor at the planet base? O_o

At the time the best ones available were 2-3 levels above me, and the next best were 8-10 lower.

At least at 50 you can unlock a daily quest that rewards weapons for your companions (oranges with level 50 mods).  Just have to do the Belsavis bonus series once you're 50, for those unaware.

Definately good to know. How are the weapons in comparison to say other orange weapons that you can give to your companion? For example ones from commendations. I can't remember if you can get sabers from corellia commendations. Mentioning them because I think they're the highest level ones, aren't they?

They are better than the weapons from the Voss commendations.  Blue 48 crystal, blue 50 for the rest of the slots.  Throw in an epic hilt/barrel from Ilum dailies and your companion becomes a beast.

From an inquisitor POV, the only negative is the blaster for Andronikus is main hand only, so you'd have to get a second one, rip the mods out, then put them in another gun.

Quest in question is Lights Out hc4+,altho it can be soloed(will require fast reflexes, tank companion and at least 1 death)

Lights Out (HC4+) be solo'd by an Assasin without any issues.

You start from right to left - as you look at the generators when you enter the story area (Tertiary, Secondary and Primary)

Right/Tertiary generator - stealth in, use Blackout to move between guards nice n easy - activate the generator panel - then stealth up, force speed out cutting diagonally alongside the fence in the middle and the npc's in the middle won't have time to know you're there and then you weren't.

Middle/Secondary generator - as you approach the stairs, you can see a concrete/metal block on the right side down on the floor. Mind Control/Sap the guard just behind it, jump on it, jump over to the platform with the fence. On the fence - on the right side, there's enough of a gap to squeeze through without going through the middle (and thus avoiding all the npcs)

Now you dismiss your companion. You can then, still from the right side, mode down to the panel and the biig mean champ.trooper standing there. If you stand "behind" the corner by the panel, you can activate it and still not aggro the champ guy. If you have your comp out, he/she will be in LoS and aggro him, so remember to dismiss him. Once you've activated the panel, wait for stealth CD, restealth and sneak back out the same way as you came in.

Left/Primary Generator - No subtelty here really. BW palced the guardian npc's so close that you can't push the panel without aggroing them. So you stealth/Blackout up through them, click on the panel, take a little pounding - then use the Force Shroud first, then Force Cloak to take you back into stealth, but no dot effects from the guardian npc's. Easy peasy.
