I am planning on playing a Marauder and in looking through forums and the DH database; I am just looking for clarification on a few things.
First, I am under the impression that the primary stat for Marauder is Strength then Endurance, am I correct in thinking this or are there other stats that I will want to be looking for as well?
Secondly, I have been browsing the professions and I am wondering if there is a preferred profession for the Marauder class? Or is it that any profession is good for any class?
Also is there a set gathering profession that matches best with a crafting profession?
Awesome thanks, I was in the last beta weekend but I wasn't able to play enough to actually get to professions so I was unsure how they would work in game.
Of course, there are professions that are more suited to SW's - For example, Artifice and Synthweaving for force-sensitives - but that doesn't mean that you can't choose anything else. I know a JK that decided to go into Armstech and made blasters and stuff for everyone.
Thing with Mar is you want as much dps output as possible, and fast. I tryed both Artifice and Sythweaving, and outta them both Artice made me more money, and I could level it up pretty fast. I end up geting up in the 200's, and started making some good crystals, and some other stuff.
Im acctually looking att Biochem. Since you make consumables, its probably going to be pretty easy to sell loads of it. I havnt found any recuirements to use any of the stims but having a secure supply of stims and medpacks is probably going to be very helpful. Plus the implants later on looks very nice.
The thing you HAVE to remember is that when you're a DPS class you have to look at what your PRIMARY source for our DPS is going to be. For us Marauders it's obviously our weapons. Our dps could shoot up way high with nice weapons, or suck ass with shitty weapons regardless of our gear. Our weapons should be the primary focus for upgrading and THEN our gear.
That said, I have no doubts that Artifice is the best option for marauders for crafting. In my opinion, anyway.
Agreed, Artifice is likely the most useful for a Marauder with Biotech, Synthweaving, and Cybertech all being able to supply nice items as well. Armstech and Armormech only provide items for companions and other players, so they aren't really a good option.
Artifice - Hilts = main source of DPS, also color crystals help and are in high demand.
Biotech - Medpacs, stims, adrenals, and implants. Can even make for yourself reusable items that would normally be consumables.
Synthweaving - Armor
Cybertech - Armoring and Mods, Headset, and toys like grenades.
Jaesa is our only companion that is a force user, so to some degree that limits the usefulness of Artifice and Synthweaving, though they can at least all use color crystals from Artifice. Synthweaving is vital as a Juggernaut tank, but not quite as usefull to a Marauder who doesn't depend on his armor rating as much. Biotech and Cybertech are well rounded, being usefull to you, your compaions, and other players.

As far as right now any profession will benifity anyone equally (no buffs) other than the ability to make yourself whatever you want.
Certain crafting professions 'require' certain gathering professions...its explained in your Codex inside the game.

You make your own crystals AND your own Hilts. Hilts being a primary factor from what I've seen in your DPS.
Armstech would be almost worthless for a Force user unless you want to make crap for everyone else.
