Hey all,

I've been playing my marauder for a couple of days now and I'm finding that it's hard to get gear.  At level 25 I'm wearing a few items that I've had since level 15 because I haven't found any replacements.  Most of what I have is from quest rewards, a few random greens and a little pvp gear. The whole darkside vendor is a (well known) fiasco for us.

I've been too absorbed with class quests, pvp, and space combat to run more than Black Talon and all but the last boss in Hammer.  However, other than the green drops, I don't think I saw ANY medium strength armor drop in either. 

So, the question for you all is:  am I just very unlucky with drops or what?  Do I just need to focus on running more flashpoints and pray to the drop gods?

BT drops a nice low level chest piece for Marauders, but I feel the same way. It's hard to find gear - a lot of mine is somewhat outdated.

That said, it's pretty normal for an MMO to be thi way until you hit max level. Also, use commendations!

My advice atm is to get the pvp level 20 gear, if you grind pvp you can get the whole set for a total of like 1200 warzone comms. Level 15-20 you could get lucky and get close to geting the full set, and even try to get the implants and earpiece.

You can find the PvP trainer at the fleet station right after Korriban, in the skills area. There is level 20 gear, level 40 gear, and of course level 50 gear. Your going to find that this gear is better than most of the pve gear drops, and even crafted gear early level.

Synthweavers can craft some reasonably decent gear to help fill in some slots.  Aside from that, check commendation vendors as others have said.  Worst case, you could pvp for some gear.

I've seen some schems for moddable maurauder gear, but never picked them up since I'm a sorc.  Perhaps there is money to be made, though... ;)

Med Str oriented gear is few and far between which is why that armor is selling like rice cakes in china on the AH. You should do the bonus quests for some of the planets because that will lead to Modable gear/mods+enhancements and other planet tokens to buy, you guessed it, more modable gear. Once you get that modable gear use the tokens you get from planets to upgrade the mod sockets.

It is also worth noting that if you don't have fully modable gear you can get PvP gear fairly easily. By doing 1 hour of PvP I was able to pick up 2-3 pieces of gear.

I have had no problem with Marauder gear. Check your planet's special goods vendor. They usually have a really nice med armor chest with full modding. 

i am  a lvl 27 warrior and  other then my nice boots  that dropped in world drops  indeed hard to get some good gear  , that is why i started so some pvp now for  some decent items , but i am sure  i see miss see something cause i see  there is enough for marauders also

Thanks all.  Just wanted to see if I was totally screwing up.

I have done a bunch of PVP and I've been going hard for modable gear.  Since I've been slicing too (skill 380 @ lvl 32 now :) I've been working the AH to get both the best mods and any odd pieces that I need.  I spent about 90k at level 30 to kit out both me and Quinn and it made a HUGE difference.

Bummer about the gear but I'm still loving the Marauder!  :D

Just wantd to say this is the only forum that suggests carnage is the best of the 3... I play carnage but I typically get owned in pvp, and seem to be behind on pve, that is subjective though i suppose.
