Item search is broken.

  • #1 GameHermit

I'd have posted this in my thread about how many problems there are in the code, but predictably someone locked it. Probably the guy whose competence was being questioned, but that's not why I'm here. I'm here to report the item search being broken. I did a search for an item and the site tells me no items contain the word "Hellfire". Picture Obviously that's not the case since there's one right here. You guys might want to have someone take a look at that. It cripples the usefulness of an item database pretty bad if you can't search it.

yea have to agree with ya search function on that DB is beyond toasted.    Some items show up others don't type in lets say the word "stim" with out the "" and you get one result only... really O_o.   So as much as some people might not like GameHermit im starting to see the person is a welcome addition to the sites growth.  I shutter to think how bad the DB is if the search function is setup as bad as it is.  Keep up the good work GameHermit ^_^

hey guys, while we appreciate bug reports, wed def appreciate if you could keep your comments civil. We work really hard to bring you these sites and they are both a WIP and will continue to be improved over time, all websites have bugs, so to say the site is "bad" because it has a bug is a little exaggerated. Also, seems you guys are just confused on how the site works. Here are results for both http://db.darthhater.com/search.aspx?search_text=hellfire and http://db.darthhater.com/search.aspx?search_text=stim The filter box you are typign into is only for filtering the results that are returned. For speed we only return 200 results at a time, which is pretty standard for the DB sites. To search for an item name, use the search box in the top right. I did notice that if you filter it will give you a Search for hellfire link, which appears to link to the wrong place, so ill get this fixed up, thx for the bug reports fellas

for one the search function should have been labeled more clearly then.

second note my post was more then civil.  If what i posted came off as uncivil then i suggest you grow a little bit thicker skin in my opinion.

Because from my point of view the information at hand the search did seem to be that messed up but you pointed out that the search box for the type of search in question was in a different location.   Thanks again for the timely reply and have a nice day. Smile
