Hi all, i want to give you an advice about the horrible customer service from EA / Origin.
Last Sunday i bought STAR WARS™: The Old Republic™ from store.origin.com . Gone to www.swtor.com/redeem/game but when i typed the code origin supplied, the response is "The code has already been used. ".
This happens at some point to nearly all MMORPG distributors, often at least once for each game they sell. It's usually not truly a situation where they're selling used codes, but that there's a bug in the validation system. Sometimes the issue is within the system itself, sometimes it's miscommunication between the system and computers of those effected, sometimes its payment incompatibility; the possible causes of these issues are essentially limitless.
It will be straightened out, but they'll need to figure out what's causing the issue so that it does not happen again. You wouldn't want a band-aide over the issue now, only to have it crop up again after you've been playing the game for a few weeks, something that can and has happened to me.
As a quick aside to Venum12345, and purely because I feel there's not enough paranoia present in this topic already, I recommend you not label the situation as a case of fraud. If it isn't fraud, and in all likelihood this is simply an unintentional bug or miscommunication, you could face repercussions for defamation. Granted most companies wouldn't take such action, but you already think they're cheating you; you might want to consider the possibility ...
