Hey everyone, with User Interface customization coming in the near future, we wanted to see those of you who have logged onto the PTR and had a chance to manipulate your UI. We want to see it! Not only to display what you can do, but to also help others in forming their UI as well.
To post your screenshots when replying, click on "Editor" if you are not already on it, on the bottom right of the formating bar, click on the image of a tree. From there you can submit URL for the link, and other information if needed.
I have to say I'm actually pretty impressed with how these are looking. Did it take you guys long to nut out? was it painful to operate? I notice absolutely everyone has moved the chatbox down the bottom haha, why was it ever up the top?
These Custom UIs are just weird looking. I don't think my OCD will let me move the UI around like that. I may turn on Target-of-Target, but that's as far as it'll go. I wouldn't be able to go back to a WoW-style interface. I look at my old WoW screenshots sometimes and they look weird and I don't see why until I realize it's the minimap being in top right and chatbox at bottom left, along with the targetting portraits being at top. I'm so used to their placements in TOR that it's just second nature.

I like to see as much as possible of my character and its surroundings. I placed the action bars up to the left because I know from ME that it works and focus remains on the action instead of the UI. What you can't see is that my target frame is up top, vertically opposite to my own unit frame. The portrait on the right is my companions.
It's basically a mesh between Mass Effect 2/3 (haven't actually played 3) and, I guess, a bit of KotOR. Never cared for the MMO layout.
Semi-related, but how do you make the second bar be Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2, etc? I never saw a checkbox for that, but I see it in a lot of UIs(even pre-1.2). Do you have to manually map each one to ctrl+1,2,3,etc.?
