I just got wacked by the ban hammer because I (apparently) intended to become a gold farmer or some such.
I've spent several hundred dollars on cartel coins (mostly for legacy convenience items like the mail droid and XP boosts for leveling alts) and have less than 4 million credits across all my toons but I'm a gold farmer. I tried to login to swtor.com and they confirmed I am indeed perma-banned. Yeah, I've replied to their disputes email address.
Anyways, I'm posting here simply to see if I have any company. Misery loves company. I would hate to be the only person hit by this
For you amusement I give you the ban notice:

Full investigation, LOL. I would call them retards but that would be unkind to retards.
Suffice it to say I've never sold any credits or other items to strangers. Heck, I mostly give away items I craft to my guildies. But hey, if their precogs say I intend to become a gold farmer it must be true!
Our accounts (mine and my wifes) are now unbanned:
Account Name: funkiestj

Naturally, they have not restored the 5 months playing time I had left on my 6 month subscription. Ditto for my wife (2 months left). WTF is a matter with these people? You realize that you accused the wrong people of cheating and you can't even clean up the mess properly? I have to waste more time begging them to get it right? And their idea of just compensation that will restore my good will is 3 extra days of subscription (x2 accounts)?
Of course it will eventually be resolved. That is not the point. The point is that after looking at their records and seeing that I and my wife have pumped more than $1500 into their game since we started playing and have never had any serious violation of the ToS (no botting, hacking, multiboxing, or buying anything from gold farmers and the like, no griefing players in game, generally civil on the forums) their idea of treating me as a valued customer is to be so sloppy as to not restore the time left on our 6 month subscriptions?
I like the game. I can understand the economic realities that caused them to neglect my favorite part of the game (PvP) for so long. I can even understand the mistaken banning (shoe string budget for enforcement, corners cut). But for god's sake, when you find out you've messed up, clean up the mess properly and don't insult your valued customer with a paltry +3 days of playing time!
In the past I would blow money on cartel coins freely because I wanted to vote with my dollars (and I have plenty of leisure dollars to vote with). What better way to show a for profit business that you like their game then by throwing money at them?
My wife hasn't seen all the class stories yet so we'll keep playing until she's done but we're done spending money on additional cartel coins and I'll be figuring out how to give these dirtbags as little money as possible while we finish up.
I'll report back when they finally restore my stolen subscription time so that you can LOL at the details. Given their track record I expect I'll still feel deeply insulted when the issue is fully resolved. BW/EA are clearly too cheap and short sighted to make a proper apology. (The language of business is money. A proper apology would consist of in game compensation of significant monetary value, not a few days of subscription time.)
Yeah, I know that since this hasn't happened to you it is not that interesting. OTOH you don't have to read this thread and it does make me feel a little better to vent.
