End game pve gearing

  • #1 chadders1231

Hello, basically i leveled to 50 around 3 days ago and im really interested in end game raiding as it looks amazing. How ever i can't get my head around on gearing up to those levels? Ive tryed doing normals i did 'Falls of the emporer' and ive realised the gear is greens :S What is that all about?

So basically im wondering how do i gear up.

They've said entry-level Operations are wholly viable in level 50 greens (EV). However there are quite a few moddable oranges to get and including the few armour pieces from Corellia you could easily do the dailies and grind out some better gear in Ilum. That's about as far as you can get until actual raiding, but apparently they've made Normal EV very easy to do in level 50 greens.

    Anyone else confirm this?

The way i've done it on my Guardian is simple, PVP and more PVP! I've been quite lucky on my bags though, valor rank 40 and full champion. The only thing i needed to make sure of, is that my accuracy is at 100% But that's easy to reach with talents and a bit of gear switching. I've tanked hardmodes without any problem. Anyway it works for me at least :-)

I would think that if your whole raid were in all greens it would be extremely difficult. You would need the perfect raid set up and have players who are competent about the fights and were super skilled. The PVP suggestion is very good, it's a great way to get some epics to get you started. Black Talon Hard Mode is pretty faceroll easy and you can gather some upgrades there. Daily quests in Ilum and Belsavis (once you finish the bonus series) are a great way to get modifications for your pre-existing orange gear to bring them to epic level. On that note, modifications to orange gear in general are a pretty good way to bring gear up to par.

Between non-hardcore PVPing and running the Belsavis and Ilum daily quests, I'm in pretty much all epic/artifact/purple quality gear, and I have yet to set foot in an operation.  The daily quests alone can have an entire set of moddable gear maxed out in the span of a week.  The daily commendations can also go towards purchasing Rakata quality earpieces and implants, which may not be replaced for a while.

One note about the daily quests:  The ones that provide the mods for moddable gear are group quests, but all of them can be 2 manned easily.

In addition to all that, check the trade network daily; there may be some good deals on gear upgrades there.

Keep in mind that you can remove the rating 56 mod and enhancements from the Champion PVP gear you find in bags, especially if they are duplicate items, and place them in Orange gear along with the rating 51 Armoring from dailies, thus creating VERY nice pre-columni gear which is more than acceptable for normal mode Operations.

Implants and Earpieces can also be found on the GTN that, with augment slots, can be superior to anything found even in normal mode Operations.
