theres alot of threads on the official forums that seem to say the pvp is pretty bad currently,i mean.i know the game hasnt been out for that long but it does it seem like biowares actually doing stuff to make it better or is it just gonna end with everyone leaving after the free months over because the pvp is bad

but i dont know,i know from previous mmos.some people overreact and the things there QQing about arent really that bad,i mean.from the warzone videos ive watched the pvp doesnt look to bad

It's no where near as bad as people say, infact it's the some of the most balanced low level pvp in an mmo i have personaly seen. When 50's are moved to there own bracket lets hope some of them stop whinning as hard as they do. The only other whinning you really see is about stuff like operatives but those are from the same players who just stand there and cast when one gets on them instead of just kiteing him away since he has no closers lol.

All in all if you ask me the pvp is alright in this game it could use a few tweaks here and there, ( Talking to you illum) but its not in a terribly bad or broken state if you ask me.

I hate to be the one saying this but: It's fine, L2P. Most complaints is from newbs (not noobs) not learning fast enought and being exploited. Such as standing there tanking a concealment operative while he unleashes insane crits on you or not passing the ball in huttball and never scoring.

From what I've seen, most people complain that a level 20 person kicked the hell out of a level 50 and the level 50 is crying that there are issues. What people don't understand is how the bolstering system works. From my understanding (someone correct me if I'm wrong) is that if you're level 20 and in all high end level 20 gear your stats will be bolstered to the point where as if you're a level 50 in level 50 gear. So when that level 50 comes rolling in thinking they're going to steamroll the lowbies while the level 50 is in level 40 greens, the level 50 is getting torn up.

Overall I think the PVP is balanced. Now if we can just get both sides to participate in Ilum I'd be a happy camper. Thats the only thing I think needs some work. I find it frustrating that if one side doesn't participate on Ilum, the other side can't even complete objectives to get credit. And when 1 person does do the objectives on the one side, everyone on the other side is fighting to be able to turn it back so they get credit (picture 1 steak bone being tossed down for 5 hungry dogs).

Balanced, until you meet a geared lvl 50 Ops that can bring an equally geared 50 from 100 - 0 in seconds. All will be fixed in time though :)

Okay for all you that say the only people that are complaining are noobs or need to adept are complete idiots. I'm usually always on top of the charts in any warzone and havent' been beatin once in world pvp on this game yet and this game needs a big overhawl when it comes to controls. Yeah some classes are op as shit atm point being a ranged class that back peddles and clicks and while you're behind them beating their ass they are back peddling trying to get you in front of them but it doesnt' matter becasue they are still able to hit you with ever casted or channeled move. While I'm spamming a move just like i do in WoW say i'm hitting my 1 Button which is my vicious strike it seems as if me spamming the button actually makes the ability stutter and instead of actually landing when it's pressed it shows the animation as it's about to land and then starts the animation all over again and doesnt' land until after that. And sometimes it doesn't even land the second time and continues to stutter. And yes they are in front of me i don't have a crap pc I have 150 fps and 7 ms in this game so I'm good. This game need for  the production quality on the controls to be more fluid and not stutter like it does then hte game will be completely balanced. Till then most people will quit the game after the first month, I probably will quit the game if that's not fixed, and I wanted this to bwe the game that made me quit WoW.

P.S. I'm not the only one having this problem with the stuttering I've watched numerous streams and videos with this same flaw and have talked to other player that are having the same issue

  • #7 Handchoi

Your stuttering issue should be because of ability queing.

SW:TOR is some of the most fun in PvP I've ever had. Huttball is like those cool Unreal Tournament ball games. I don't know how long I'll be entertained, but for now, I think it's a real blast! Trooper Commandos and Jedi Shadow / Sages seem strong, but perhaps they're my counter-class as a Sorcerer healer? I don't care much. I get beaten alot and I manage to do alot of good stuff.

All in all, I enjoy PvP a lot!

Nah it's not ability queing, I can press it just once and it works completely fine it just happens if i mash it like I would any other mmo, moba, or strat based game like sc2. and i tested it out last night after i posted this and it did it without fail every single time I mashed it.

and just saying ability que is fucking dumb. Who's ever heard of a que time for an ability. If you've ever played a warrior in wow almost every ability is like having slam. Who the fuck wants a 1 second dely between using an instant ability it and actually hitting and you being able to "que" another f'ing ability.

You're completely wrong, I'm lvl 50 Madness Inquisitor and when I see a group of 2-3 lvl 30 and below, I don't even hesitate to go against them. And more often than not I destroy all 2-3 of them with more than 50% hp remaining. We really need to be in our own bracket but not right now because we would wait 1 hour + in queues just to get a match going.

so setting the ability queue to 0.0 doesnt fix it?

although,i heard that bioware already said there going to "maintain a pve focus" i dont know that means, but i dont really wanna play if its gonna end up with shit pvp like world of warcraft because biowares to busy ignoring the pvp and making the pve great

thats one of the main issues ive had since i started playing world of warcraft

That is actually balanced fine. Concealment Ops have high burst but very little utility or survivability. 1v1 they are lethal, but in groups they are actually fairly weak. 2 concealment ops versus a tank/healer is absolutely no contest.

    hmmm

doesnt mention anything about the ability queue thing or whatever.unless its part of the "several optimizations" for the combat system

Oh my goodness. PvP is the worst. I'm talking about Warzones, here. I'm on the Republic side, and I can tell you- I absolutely hate it. Going against so many Sith Inquistors makes it even worse. I am a level 50, and tonight I was grouped with 4 people under level 15, and one person level 42 (I think) and two level 30-somethings. We were against 5 level 50 Sith Inquisitors. This was the worst case, but it happens consistently. The Inquistor is just too powerful. It makes me want to quit the entire game. For good.

And the fact that people are saying "they're just noobs" is completely absurd. Wouldn't you want to make it as fun as possible for as many people as possible? Isn't that the best way to keep everyone interested? One thing that I would definitely like to see changed is having the ability to choose which PvP Warzone I get to play. I don't know why that wasn't an option at launch. Anyone have input for that?

Being a Jedi Sentinel, I don't see myself playing any more PvP. Our abilities just don't hold up there. I know that I'll need the valor to get the best gear in endgame, but I may just quit if that becomes a problem. Being constantly frustrated during PvP just isn't something I want to do anymore.
