Ok, so apparently the only way to effectively get Mercenary Commendations is by trading Warzone Commendations for them, or at least that is what every single guide I've found says is the way to get them. You can get them from Ilum or Tatooine if you find chests, but it sounds like those are pretty rare.
So. . .what is the point of Mercenary Commendations? If the only way to effectively get them is to trade Warzone commendations for them, why not just make the gear bags cost 800 Warzone Commendations.
I think this is honestly the biggest problem and cause for confusion in their pvp gear system, you remove the Mercenary Commendation bit and it all seems to get a lot simply to me.
Tatooine has 1 chest on a ~8min spawn with about 6 possible locations. Never taken the time to find the ones on ilum.
The merc commendations do allow you (with the current commendation cap) to store up 6 bags (1 in inventory, 5 in commendations) before you hit 50 though.
