Hello everyone. MD bringing you another video in hopes of moving the community past the whine of class balance and Ilum. This video is about playing the objectives, or the lack of need to, as well as attempting to bring discussion on real things that need to be fixed with SWTOR PvP.
I'd love to start a discussion on things that we, the community feel need fixing besides Ilum and class balance, both here, on the main forums and on youtube. The more we expose laggy animations, terrible loot, wall climbing bugs, being stuck glitches, doors and such the easier it is for bioware to get to it.
Also it would be nice to throw around some ideas on how to improve the medal system
I would like more medals for warzones. Last night my Vanguard got in a habit on Huttball of Harpooning foes into acid/fire and rooting them with Cryo Grenade so they'd die in the hazards, and it made me wish there was a badge for causing a foe to die from environmental damage. It could be tricky to determine how a player causes an environmental kill, but I'd love to have a warzone medal for that. I guess a similar one could be done for Voidstar for making people die from falling off the bridges at the mid-point of the assault/defense.

one of my favourites... whenever I get kicked down I have to pull someone into acid/ fire places... for balance purposes =D
IMO PvP's biggest problem right now is the lag that happens when 5-10 people are fighting near an objective. As a marauder, it's extremely difficult for me to interrupt casting when in melee; simply because by the time the server registers the interrupt, the spell has already been cast. Many times I will get in close to a foe, only to see them reappear 30 yards away because of the server lag. Given how the game already punishes melee (aoe, the large number of knockbacks and stuns, etc) it basically makes melee characters unplayable. Look at the damage done in most warzones and notice how the warriors/jedi kights are all at the bottom.
Even if I get there, sometimes the server just doesn't recognize the buttons I press (which wastes my precious GCDs.) The most recent patches have helped; but they really only took it from something that happens 50% of the time to something that happens 25% of the time.
I play objectives. I have always played objectives, even in games like Battlefield or Halo. Even if the rewards are not as substantial, I would rather be playing the objectives and coordinating as a team than going off and just racking up as many kills as possible. I am not on top of the ranks most of the times, but I am a damn good PvP player and have been told many times. I often come away with the most MVP votes.
Moral of the story: Play the objectives and have fun :)
