While travelling around Hoth on the quest to find my Master's light saber, I found several potentially dangerous beauties. I would caution for you not to try gathering these without the appropriate tools and skill with Bioanalysis. One interesting item of discussion is the Alien Contagion Fiber.
Imperial botanists have been unable to determine the origins of this plant, but have determined that this plant is harmful to other native plants. This plant is able to adapt to harsh environments, such a Hoth and Quesh and is highly aggressive. Several directives have been established to eliminate this plant as there are unconfirmed reports of this plant found on Alderaan. The Alien Contagion Fiber is classified as a harmful invasive species. The plants has harmful effects, according to Alderaan officials, on indigenous flora. Due to lack of financial resources and public awareness, eradication efforts have been minor and short-lived. Eradication efforts are counter productive as this plant is sought by Bio-chemists for several medical applications.
The Alien Contagion Fiber is a crop of intertwined slender leaves approximately one inch across. This plant has become a favorite grazing food of the Tauntaun on Hoth. The stalks can be hard to cut and capable of slicing through the skin if not properly handled. This plant can be physically removed. You will need a set of heavy duty gloves to push aside the vines to allow you to get at the underside of the plant. Using a small spade, get under the stem cluster and with a single clean thrust, cut directly through the primary root. This will help to maximize the potential of your harvest. Proper processing of the plant will yield Alien Bacteria.
