Yeah i agree with most of what you said I am shaking my head at people on the official SWTOR forums complaining about how it only has 5 lvs so it shouldn't be considered an expansion...its not like WoW last 2 expansions didn't just raise the cap by 5 lvs right?? (though wow $40 dollar exp packs have a lot more content but meh... 10 bucks i can swing that, but the damn gear better not be repainted all over again.

I'm wondering if you will be able to buy this with Cartel coins and if its 10 bucks then what? 1000 to 1200 cartel coins then? If that's the case then I just have to save 2 months of the 600 cartel coins I get a month and Walaa! free expansion

So you think that if the foundry system were not in the game the devs would continue to just make different cash grinds and not add any real content? sorry i don't agree with that at all, the Foundry is Too good at its job and makes it even easier for the devs to ignore real content and its not Cryptic so much as its parent company Peferct World a leader in asian Grind fest MMO thats pushing the Lockboxes its how they do buisness in All their MMO's.

Go back to before Perfect World bought STO and there were no lockboxes, but content (like swtor before F2P) took forever to come out and kept getting delayed and pushed back, that was before the foundry was out as well as  (IMO) being one of the main reasons STO floundered and almost went out of buisness and had to sell to Perfect World in the first place..

But I agree with you that I don't want SWTOR to follow that whole STO Dilitium gind all the good stuff is in lockboxes model, though at least in SWTOR all that stuff isn't BOP you can eventually sell it for credits which may or may not destroy the economy we'll have to wait and see.

yes but things won't stay static they can adjust prices and rarity on virtual items expect to see "sales" and bonus and "discounts" on items to keep people paying. Also as brought up by Gary Gannon on The Republic we'll probably see all kinds of cross promotions with other companies a s well as EA properties BuY or pre-order game A get 500 Cartel coins or By Pepsi get Cartel coins on the bottle caps etc.

While I agree that not knowing what you are getting in the cartel packs is annoying I recognize that its a great way for EA to make tons of cash so I don't see it going anywhere unfortunately. A couple of issues I had with the Writers opinions and or facts..STO the reason that STO doesn't put out more content? Its not due to the Lockboxes grabbing all the devs. attention, its because they have a robust Player made content system, which by the way is a lot better then the stuff the Devs come up with half the time that's why they don't make more content the users are doing it for them so why bother? The other game SWG that the writer uses as an example is a game that was so bad people left it in droves and they were barely making any money off of (SOE) so why should they spend money to appease the what? Five thousand players they had  playing it, it made no sense money wise so they milked what they could out of the poor bastards who stayed in the game because it was the only Star Wars MMO at the time.(history repeating itself?)

Exactly you really want something but can't get it with cartel coins you can probably get it on the GTN ( my friend got the Darth Nihilius mask for a cool 10 million credits....to rich for my blood) so really that whole issues is addressed there. Items sold for a bit more but guaranteed to drop is another good option but again the lottery aspect makes EA more money and EA loves its money.

Ever heard the Phrase "if everyone is super then no one is"? there's always a group "elite raiders, Epic PVP gear, epic RP'/Social players  who are a small minority that have the "cool stuff". In RL its celebrities and superstars its just the way the world works.

Hmm so far im in love with the CC store ( ive had decent luck with 6 packs bought and 2 mounts, 3 +41 crystals, 3 cool emotes the glowing red eyes and 5 different pets, a banner and about 50k credits in purple mats and some female clothing options ill prob sell on the GTN.)  I'm a sub, have been since day 1 and I have spent $30 to unlock some legacy perks on the 2 new toons I just re-rolled on Shadowlands server so I could join the Podcast guild that sprung up there ( its made up of old Merc guild members, TORwars fans and other refugees including Allen Shot First 158 individual members so far! ) I'm pretty sure EA will be making bank this first month, we'll see how it goes long -term but even the F2p peeps who aren't Preferred players laugh at some of the restrictions but they aren't "mad" about them at least the ones in our guild I still see some people ( usually old subbers who have returned and are going preferred complaining in local and they just get shouted down by the subbers' there gona be a ton of people who have never played an MMO ever trying out TOR which EA is counting on and they won't know the difference and will pay thru the nose for things.
