I am somewhat disappointed that they didn't have an actual event.  I am not concerned about the cartel stuff even though I am sure I may get some of it.  As a subscriber, I am sad that we don't just get an event or some goodies.  It feels that I am now not only a subscriber but I have to purchase extra cartel coins just to do a fun holiday event (Which there really isn't, it is just stuff)

I will say that it is kind of neat but I agree that I am sad that there isn't an actual life day event which would be very cool so rather they just add items that if we want to celebrate life day and do fun stuff we have to buy.  I am somewhat upset but am imagining the EA is pushing BW to make more money and milk the cow, which is sad because I expected more.

And everyone knows that the Star Wars Christmas Special is canon...I want my singing Bea Arthur!

I don't think that this is that big of a deal at this point.  I have so many Tionese crystals that they are flowing out my ears.  I wish I could give them to other players.  I also still don't believe that giving people gear means that 'noobs' will be playing.  I am so surprised that in a community game how many people don't take the time to help new players learn how to play their role, how to be a part of a flashpoint.

I also tend to agree a little bit.  I kind of enjoy them but I can see how it can be addictive to buy these packs with points.  I imagine SWTOR is going to get massive cash from these things so I don't see them going away.  I also enjoy the somewhat randomness.  Even though I have yet to get the fancy floating throne that I want yet, I am sure that sometime in the future that it will be the case.  

I also hope that this isn't just a stop gap and content will still come with these things as well.  Although I do worry that they are trying to suck as much money out of us as possible which would be awful because I have so much faith in Bioware. Can we at least admit though that the party jawa is awesome?

The Rifftrax version of the Star Wars Christmas Special is awesome.  You also get to see what a really coked up Carie Fisher looks like and Mark Hammil in VERY heavy makeup. It really is a joy for the whole family with Itchy, Lumpy and Mala.  :D
