I think there's a very strong case for In-game holidays.
Celebrations are a fundamental part of a functioning society. They provide a reason to come-together as a group and socialise/ have fun, but they also serve to reinforce the values of that group. Whether they're Secular (thanksgiving), Religious (Feast Days), Personal (Birthdays), Seasonal (Harvest) or even Achievement (Graduation), they all serve to re-inforce the bonds that make that society, work. Heck, look at how many Award ceremonies/parties there are in the Films. It'd be immersion-breaking to NOT have any.
Now, as to what they could be.. I'll put my hand up and say my knowledge of the EU isn't the greatest, so I'd have to let others have this one, but some ideas i thought of:- As a future Imperial, i'm thinking Empire Day - to Celebrate the founding of The Empire, Emperor Day - to celebrate his birthday. Personally, I'm rooting for "Sacking of Coruscant" day ;)

Thanks very much for that link, Shadowpants, much appreciated! had a look and downloading the mod now..Posted in: Feature
I've toyed with the idea of Dragon Age and Mass Effect, both of which i've heard great things, but i'm playing LotRO atm and Isengard's coming out soon, so not too much free-time coming up :D
That aside, its primarily the story i was interested in, just as Back-story for ToR

Another wonderful Lore update, thank you! Quite frankly, your Lore updates are far better than the "official" ones and much more Informative and flavour-some.Posted in: Feature

Wonderful update.. i've been hoping for something like this for a while. The stories of KotoR and Kotor2, would appear to have quite a lot of relevance to ToR (as it appears to be KotoR 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 AND 10) and if you haven't played those games, you're missing out on a LOT of backstory/ immersion/History.Posted in: Feature
I did pick up a copy of KotoR2 to play through, to get the story and the feel of the ToR universe and to find out if the "Bioware story hype" was all it was cracked up to be. It is, btw.. the story and the feelings it engendered were Amazing. Downside was i had to play an 8 year old game to find it out and that was Painful in the extreme. So much so, infact, that i couldn't finish it. The graphics/terrain/models were just awful, but that's by Today's standards.. for the time, i'm sure they were top notch. I persevered for quite a while, but it was so dated, i just couldn't carry on, no matter how much i was enjoying the story.
The thought of trying to play through KotoR.. well.. that isn't going to happen...
Left me with quite a dilemma. I REALLY wanted to know what happens in KotoR 1&2, but i couldn't play the games to find out, so Thank you VERY much indeed for your hard work!

Healing Styles?Posted in: General Discussion
There's been a fair amount of coverage of the Classes being "Mirrored" between the factions, Trooper/BH, Smuggler/IA etc. what about the Roles within a faction.
ie: do the BH/SI/IA all get a Hot, a Direct Heal, an AoE, a shield and a cleanse? in-effect, they all have exactly the same "healing Style" just the mechanics are different (Heat, Force, Energy), or is there a difference in Focus for the class. eg: BH has quick Direct Heals but no aoe, SI focuses on Mitigation but no Hot, IA focuses on HoT's but no shield?

Totally mis-read the caption and got really excited.. "Concluding a fierce battle on the battered world of Coruscant, a Jedi Shadow strikes down the last of an Imperial patrol". .. alas... maybe in a later patch/expansion :(Posted in: SWTOR News

Such a shame, but really appreciate the prompt feedback!Posted in: SWTOR News

Any Chance we could get some footage of the Imperial Agent in action? i'd love to see that!Posted in: SWTOR News

Of the Announced races, I can't help but think the Rattataki would make for an interesting story...Posted in: Imperial Agent
The Centuries of Inter-Tribe fighting would have thrown up some "behind-the-scenes" warriors/assassins. Ones skilled at pitting rival tribes against each other, weakening them for their tribe to take over. Long-ranged or poison-in-the-drink style assassinations to decapitate their target's command structure, throwing the defenders into confusion before the main assault of their tribe... sound like anyone we know?
