It has been just over a month since Star Wars: The Old Republic Game Update 1.3: Allies went live. Server transfers are complete, and BioWare is in the process of moving the remaining players from origin servers to the twelve destination servers by way of automatic transfers. The looking for group system gives players a way to streamline the lengthy process of finding a group to tackle content. Both of these tools are great ways to help players come together and enjoy the already established Warzones, Flashpoints, and Operations. However, new content is the lifeblood of any massively multiplayer online game. For my thoughts on the future of SWTOR, hit the jump.

Recently during E3 in Los Angeles, I had a chance to go hands-on with a segment of one of the new Belsavis daily heroic quests as a level 50 Sith Sorcerer. Following a presentation showing off a preview of new content coming in 1.3 and later this year, I sat down with a group of three other players rounded out by a Sith Juggernaut tank, Operative healer and a Mercenary DPS. You can see a brief preview of the content we were able to test in our gameplay demo video, but read on to get the full experience as it was at E3.

Online Community Manager Joveth Gonzalez responded to a question about server transfers on the official forums today, revealing that BioWare recently finished development of the system and is close to starting the testing phase of the process.Quote from Joveth GonzalezI know you are all eager for information regarding character transfers and I just wanted to let you all know that this is definitely a studio wide priority. We’ve just about finished up on the development side of things, but in order to ensure a high quality service, the system needs to undergo extensive testing. The testing cycle, as some of you may know, is variable and highly dependent on a number of things. With that being said, as soon as this process is complete and we are confident in the quality of the service, you can expect to hear more detailed information.
As with everything, we’ll keep you updated with any news of when testing might begin in the future.
