I'll start out by saying I'm not the biggest crafting person, and I haven't explored crafting in many MMOs. However, I think Bioware has a great opporunity to explore crafting in SWTOR. It's no secret that Bioware is looking to its previous games for influence and inspiration. We've seen it done for Player Ships and Companions. I think the same could be said about crafting and how it is executed.
Rather than creating an entirely new weapon, piece of armor, or item, KOTOR and KOTOR 2's crafting system comprised of creating items that modified your current items. For example, you could create lenses of different variants to create different effects for your lightsaber, such as more overall damage, or a chance on hit. I think this concept will be applied to SWTOR and its crafting system.
Here is a scenario. After completing a long quest-chain, you are rewarded with a new piece of shoulder armor. This shoulder armor has two sockets in it (or a more Star Warsy word for sockets). The sockets allow you insert a crafted item that will modify the shoulders to be more resistant to a certain type of damage, or increase chance to strike a critical hit. For sake of example, let's say you have the blueprint to create Rancor-stregthened sheaths, which will increase an piece of armor's resistance to kinetic damage. In order to create these sheaths, you will need to collect 30 rancor bones and a rancor tusk. Rancor bones can be collected from any type of rancor between level 40 to 50 (let's assume you are a level 50 character). Rancor tusks can only be collected from a Bull Rancor, which is the last boss in a high level instance (not a raid instance). Once these sheaths are created, they need to be purified with a chemical which can be purchased from vendors on most major planets. After they are cleansed, they are then able to be inserted into the shoulder-pieces.
This system is very much able to be expanded to cover weapons, armor, consumables, and other types of item usually produced in crafting. Obviously this borrows ideas from other MMO games within the industry, but it also incorporates ideas that Bioware has used in previous games.

Though I can't find the quote, they have said that Revan is not the Emperor, as he was probably the first guess when the Sith Emperor character was introduced. I could swallow Revan still being alive through some fasion more than him being the Emperor anyways. What I could see is Revan becoming the new hero of the Republic to take on the Sith Emperor. There was some great discussion about possible storylines including an imprisoned Revan and his relationship with the Emperor.Posted in: General Discussion

It's an intriguing dichotomy. On one hand, you have PvE players who enjoy the strategy and planning, while on the other, PvP players enjoy the thrill of the moment and sometimes the talk-talking that goes along with it. PvPVE is an idea thats been tossed around alot in the MMO genre but it has never been integrated in a game successful, at least that I know of. It would have to be malliable enough to be enjoyed by both crowds while still serving the purpose it's designed to do.Posted in: General Discussion

There is a free Ustream application for viewing, but it only shows featured/popular streams (ie. Streams that are produced with Ustream software). Interestingly enough, you can view the Capcom Booth's PAX Stream using this application.Posted in: SWTOR News
Your next best bet is to download a free app called CloudBrowse, which will create a virtual browser that you can use. I use this sometimes for when Flash-based sites aren't displayed properly. The quality of watching a stream through a virtual browser will be poor, but its the only thing I can suggest.
