Alright, here are some additional question's that I picked out to be answered that did not get a chance to be touched last night. After this, sadly, we'll have to wait until our next Q&A. But don't let that stop you from jumping onto our Ventrilo and joining us in general discussions or asking any question you might have! We are always here to help you in whatever way we can.
[emptyquote]VickVinegar - I understand that switching ACs after level 20 is impossible, which I'm fine with. However, will any system exist to allow me to re-allocate points within my AC? For example, if, as a Powertech, I realize that I have not spec'd heavily enough into the Shield Tech tree, will I be allowed to reallocate points to tweak my spec?[/emptyquote]
Yes, in an interview or a panel they announced that you will be able to re-allocate your points. The first time will be free, but after that point it will cost additional resources to do it. As to how much more, we don't currently know.
[emptyquote]Queltas - With their localized versions, will players be able to choose the language of their game or is the language of their region the only option available?[/emptyquote]
This is kind of a tough one to answer. There is a 50/50 chance on this I believe. But it all depends on compression ratio. Let's say the game is originally 20 gigs, with 10 of that being the language. But with a dual language it would be an additional 10 because no track is identical. Each language would have to have its own track file, thus taking up that much space. Unless they have an amazing compress ion ratio. But there is a solution to this problem, which is what people did with Aion. If you can get your hands on the audio files, both the original language, and the language you want, you should be able to swap them out as long s the file name and extension are the same. For example, when people used the Chinese Aion client, they switched it out with the English files. The game worked perfectly, and because you took it from the game, just a different localized version, it is still legal without breaking any codes of conduct. I am not supporting the idea of using a copied client but any means, but if you have a friend that has an English copy, you know what files need to be switched, you could technically do it. But this game is a lot more complex than the game I listed above. So it's currently very hard to say.
[emptyquote]Saggins - Are lightsabers a visible part of gear-sets or completely separate?[/emptyquote]
Normally no, only because there is such a wide variety of weapons compared to armor. You keep armor a lot longer than you keep a weapon, so having a weapon tie into tier gear usually does not happen. Now if you dual wield light sabers, that will be different. There is always a chance that a high level boss will have specialized dual wielding weapons that have their own tier bonus. We've seen this before, and we could see it again.
[emptyquote]nubnoodle - Has there been any indication that choosing a profession combo like Jedi with slicing/powertech would gimp you vs going Jedi arch/artifice? I would like to play sort of an Anakin archetype, not so much being dark sided but being a techie.[/emptyquote]
No. They made the game to cater to how you want to play. Just because you are a Jedi with different abilities than someone else not gimp you in any way shape or form. It all comes down to the three skills you actually choose, rather than your character. Each skill goes into another skill. Just like how mining was used for blacksmithing and other general skills in a different game.
[emptyquote]Brazen - At launch, can we expect readily available GM's both ingame or in chatmodes to help with bugs/problems?[/emptyquote]
Absolutely. Yeah, I said it. You have to remember, this was made to be an A plus MMO. There is no way that they will not have a staff ready and waiting to go as soon as this game launches. Launch day is the biggest day for the life of any MMO, and no company would ever want to be not ready for such an event. Between the possibility of mass gold spammers, getting stuck, and finding bugs, they will 100% have a team ready to make sure they meet our needs.
[emptyquote]Justicus - What does the future look like for Darth Hater after the game launches?[/emptyquote]
We can't currently talk about that.
[emptyquote]AmoreMorte - Is Bioware going to have authenticator's on sale for those people who could not afford the Collector's edition of the game for account security measures?[/emptyquote]
I am sure they will. The authenticator's have been a HUGE help in the MMO community for any big time game. They added security without any additional annoyance. Also they are cheap to make, and great to sell for functionality. Now as to if they will be available right away I can't say for sure, but I guarantee they will.
[emptyquote]Teiwaz - We saw the eternity vault but were there any other max level content hinted at? (i fear for the lack of stuff to do at the level cap that doesn't involve rerolling or PvP)[/emptyquote]
Besides Illum, we do not know for sure. But with the size of this game, and the amount of story it has with character development, I am 100% sure there will be a lot more content. Remember, this is a fresh game, give it time to grow.
[emptyquote]Evidicus - With the story driven nature of the game, do you find yourselves making choices based on your character's motivations and concept like you would in a traditional RPG?[/emptyquote]
The best thing about Bioware games is you are not stuck on that rail. You can be who you want to be no matter what. If you are Sith, but you want to be good, you have that option. You don't even have to follow the whole dark side or light side rail either. You can complete this game and be able to play just like any other casual or hardcore player does by making the choices YOU want to make. You are not stuck on a path that is "you have to be this way or that way it is all up to you.
[emptyquote]DarthContempt - I'd like to find out how or if at all players will be addressed in game. For example, If I am a Sith warrior when Vette would talk to me would she refer to me as Warrior, or would she not bother and just start talking to me? I understand they can't possibly record every possible name imaginable but I was just wondering.[/emptyquote]
I'd imagine they are addressed just like you are in Knights of the Old Republic; they just generally talk to you without mentioning any specifics name, unless it's a NPC name.

This Thursday, September 1st at 6 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. CST / 9 p.m. EST, we will be holding a live Q&A which will last approximately one hour long. If you have questions, please feel free to post them here. We will do our best to answer as many questions as we can in the allotted time. This thread is for [b]questions only[/b], so please do not post in here unnecessarily.Posted in: General Discussion
As a favor, I ask everyone that attends please do not ask about [b]release dates, beta invites, or about there being a Darth Hater guild[/b]. We cannot comment on these subjects, and it would be a shame to waste your question. If you need the Ventrilo information, you can find it either on the home page of Darth Hater, or under the Community tab at the top of the site. We look forward to answering your questions, and hope you will be there to join us!

[emptyquote]Sadly I didn't get to meet you guys from DH due to being so busy! I was at the meet and greet on Saturday for about 20 min then it ended. But hopefully next convention I will meet you all. ;)[/emptyquote]Posted in: General Discussion
Yeah we can understand that. We go to most of the conventions and hold a get together with the fans and other fan sites, so you will most definitely have another chance soon.

Currently, the permanent ban option does not work. I created a fake account to test it, permanently banned it, and was still able to view and post on the forums. Recently, there has been a user coming to the site and spamming website links to what I am guessing is a virus. I have been dealing with it quickly to ensure that no one clicks on the links. But I doubt our members are that dumb to begin with... at least some. I thought it was taken care of until last night when more popped up, which is what lead me to testing the feature. I will also be testing the other ban time lengths as well, so please don't mind the action log spam.
Alright, I just finished running through every ban time length, and every combination of it. Currently, not one of the ban options work. This includes from 24 hours, all the way up to permanent ban. This applies for both Direct Punishment, and Infraction points. I've tested the infraction posts from 4, all the way up to 20 points.
In addition, when you infract a user while trying to apply direct punishment, the infraction overrides the direct punishment. For example, I directly permanent banned a user, but also gave an infraction of 4 points. The infraction overrides the direct punishment resulting in a 24 hour ban, instead of a permanent one.
If this could be fixed, that would really be great. Sorry for the action log spam, I wanted to make sure [b]everything[/b] get's tested.
