Would have to say that Pazaak and Capital Ships are big things for everybody, but I think that if BioWare really want to get a World PvP feel to planets other than the endgame zones, they'll have to get people to come out of the Spacedocks and actually have a reason to be on the planets. Having "distractions" and reasons not to be in the action shouldn't be something that they implement at launch; my vote is for something like the Legacy system or a Mentor system, that way they build up a positive community rather than an anti-social one.
Most intriguing WoC item? Def. the AH/Crewskills app on smart phones, I'd get that in a heartbeat. Why should I have to log in to tell my companions to start making a blaster/armor/implant while I'm in class when it could just take a couple of taps on a LCD screen to do the trick?

I do like the Tower of Hanoi, but I'd like to see another kind of logic-based puzzle.Posted in: SWTOR News

Are they making up for the Empire bias by making the Republic videos look so much cooler?Posted in: SWTOR News
but in all seriousness, the past two Republic armor progression videos have been quite superior in quality to that of the BH and the Sith Warrior (last one is just my opinion. The only cool part was the Marauder).
Is it just me, or do I want a Gunslinger look that I haven't seen over the past year? The "Space Cowboy" thing is getting... a little old. Niko Okarr (presumed) even had that look.

No, it happened to me too. Though seeing as how I've already ordered it and it should be shipping some time in the near future, it won't be long before it's in my hands. Can't say that about SWTOR though.....Posted in: SWTOR News
oh wait. Yes it will.
Thanks BioWare for Testing weekends!

It's actually that they didn't LOS them for a reason. The last 10% of the fight the boss channels missiles continuously until he is killed. Amatangelo explained this at Gamescom, and you can find it on the Day 1 Eternity Vault Video DH put up. So, in actuality, it wasn't a dumb decision, it was the best decision given the lack of resources left.Posted in: SWTOR News

I also wonderPosted in: Endgame PvE
A) What gear sets the players had on
B) How tuned the boss was for demo purposes.
You could very well have an attack that is 1-shot if you don't move out of it or something.

The Droid boss from Eternity Vault. What are your opinions, given the extensive video coverage of what we have seen of this encounter so far? Is it going to be a real gatekeeper to the Vaults, or is it going to be a flop, like most intro bosses are?Posted in: Endgame PvE

What I'm more concerned about is, as Shlomoshun points out below, that as we get closer and closer to launch, we should be getting more and more info from the 'nailed down, going to be in game' sort, yet we don't know many of the facets of the game still. What is the Legacy System? Will there still be 'Gray Gear'? What are all the Professions? What are all the Flashpoints?
If they want to explain them step by step, they're running out of time fast, as they have a hard wall built in, which is Dec 31st 2011. So even if it doesn't get pushed back to then, they're still going to have to spring all the info they've kept in the dark on us suddenly. I don't know about you (as I am not you), but I would rather them be honest with this stuff, and spread it out over two months, not a week or two.

Yes, No, Yes, No.Posted in: Podcast
Morality gear: it's cool because it adds class flavor, having the "Dark Jedi Robes" instead of everyone being pidgeonholed into the same drab gear that classes share in other games. Sure, some of those armor sets look cool, but really, a majority of the gear sets are kind of stupid looking.
Forced role via gear: If BioWare falls through on their promise that morality won't affect class roles, then it's all good. If they don't include 'gray gear' as a viable option (with restrictions, of course) then you would be forced to pick full light/dark in order to do your specified role better. That will not stand (after having it promised for a long time, mind you) in the many subscribers who actually WANT to go grey as an option, and subsequently, they will not find a reason to play that class/spec.
Played Kotor I: obviously. I'm a BioWare fanatic. Picked it up on XBox, it was bugged on Lehon, and I wasn't able to go to the Star Forge. Later got it on Steam for a sale ($2.50) and I just had so much fun re-doing the content. I also tried to find my pocket guide for it, but alas, it is gone.
Played Kotor II: No, I didn't. The reason was because it wasn't BioWare who was writing the storyline. Sure, it might have been a great story line with great characters, but I'm kind of picky like that. I don't like it in anime when they come up with filler content written by someone other than the mangaka, and I don't like it when video game companies do the same. It just feels like a homage to the game, rather than a proper sequel.
Now I have a question for you guys: If you could choose a AC/Spec to play as a more 'gray character', which would it be? Why? Personally, playing a gray Smuggler or Imperial Agent seems the most interesting take on it. Bounty Hunter is a no-brainer in terms of me picking a more gray path.
