A friend new to the game was questing in Mos Ila and heard in chat about Reps attack Mos Ila itself, and Imps attacking Anchorhead. I've been unable to play for a while to verify, but how is this? Is it some unforseen consequence of the level cap raise, that lets people run through the fatigue-y sands? I expected to see that in the Known Issues/Bugs, though maybe they didn't want to bring that to the attention of players. Anyone else know anything on that one?

I suppose that's why it's only a video and not a developer blog. :)

Nothing wrong with moving on. I haven't played since late June myself, while continuing to visit DH daily. Though in my case, it was technical problems that knocked me off TOR. The game constantly froze my entire computer, when I'm someone who HATES freezing or rebooting. Then in June the launcher went into an infinite loop of downloading/installing Main Assets 1 in all its 10gb glory. When a GM's suggestion to fix it was to reboot into safe mode to patch, I gave up.
I still love the game, just not the technical issues I went through with it. I still follow it on DH daily. It's got a dedicated constant tab in Chrome for me. Scruffy believes in this company!

Eh, TOR ain't WoW. DPS ain't the only big one in PvP. I played a tank-spec Vanguard in PvP just fine, and in fact flourished. Taunt and Guard make tanks capable of tanking in PvP in TOR. PvP in TOR isn't as DPS-oriented as you'd think.

All didn't, Vox is around, and possibly emlaeh too in some form. I don't know if any others are still around though.

At least they're already working on doing it right by making it legacy-wide from the start. That's a welcome change. It took WoW years to add account-wide stuff, and even now reputations aren't account-wide.

I wonder how the reputation system will work. Mainly I'm curious if it will retroactively be given to several unofficial game factions, or if it'll just apply to new factions from hereon out.

I do dig what MajorSnarl said. If DH has to cross-promote, hopefully the other sites will be cross-promoting DH too. The closest MMO-Champion has gotten is mentioning the latest TOR patches at the bottom of their WoW posts(which I appreciated), along with the MMO Report before G4's pending defuncture put an end to that last month. Though every MMO-C post has a blurb at the very top mentioning the latest from their Diablo-oriented sister site.
I doubt you have any power there to influence the cross-promotion stuff, but it'd be nice to get our little site shilled on the big sites some, instead of just the big guys being unnecessarily shilled on the small sites. Someone mentioned it in the cross-promotion article on the main page, but MMO-Champion isn't exactly low profile, all the DH fans know about it, especially since it's prominently displayed at the bottom of all DH pages as part of the Curse flair at the bottom.
But I know your hands are tied, so I just dig the idea that maybe MMO-C and others could cross-promote DH. MMO-C's TOR sub-forum is pretty jumpin(busier than DH's forums, though I only post on DH's, not even a MMO-C member). Those users could benefit to know that MMO-C has a TOR-focused sister site.

I don't mean anything mean by the suggestion. I can't remember the staff members of half the internet sites I go to. But with DH being a fairly small community, a lot of us recognized the staffer names and grew attached to them over the years, from pre-launch overhype to F2P letdowns. The abrupt absence of a large majority of them led to people assuming bad things happened.
Getting a few of them to post to ease the transition to the new caretakers would help, since they're the names we trust. A passing the torch ceremony if you will, minus an actual ceremony. They don't have to speak in detail on contracts or anything, just basically say the light parts on wanting to play the game casually without having to keep making a job of it, and saying they have faith in the "new" team leading.
Having it in podcast form might be good for those who have loyally listened to all of the podcasts all these years (I've never listened to any of them, sorry), but even a text post would be a big ease for people I think.

Since the old team did leave peacefully, why didn't they make goodbye posts announcing this? If a staffer leaves any other website, they tend to make goodbye posts. And with the DH founders being such obviously prominent members of this site, shouldn't they have made goodbye posts? That could be part of why people assumed the worst here. It's not too late for them to do so, maybe.
