Realistic graphics never look realistic - they always end up looking fairly bad. I'd much rather my games have an artistic style and be treated as art rather than having something that is a game being turned into something approaching an emulation of real life. I'll be happier though when we at least get something approaching decent fluid dynamics for rivers and seas (which never have waves, only ripples!)Posted in: General Discussion

Question: Do you think that Bioware will allow for IM style chat windows for conversations or channel text? It seems that every aspect of MMOs has evolved, with the exception that the chat still seems to be a big kludgy box at the bottom of the screen, where everything gets mushed together and private messages and the like are often missed due to the sheer amount of info. I'd like to know what you guys think about this...Posted in: Podcast

With Nal Hutta, Nar Shadaa and now Quesh being in the same sector, do you suppose that other planets may also be grouped in to sectors? If so, it may give an idea of possible planets which could be announced. For example, Tatooine is in the Arkanis sector, which would make the speculated Geonosis a distinct possibility...Posted in: General Discussion

When you edit a comment for an article (in my case for the current poll I got the following, which should ideally be changed to something a bit more obvious:Posted in: Website Feedback

I said that I will skip some of the dialog, however this would be conditional, if it's just waffling on for ages then I may skip it, but if it's fairly short and concise I doubt that I will.Posted in: Podcast
I also said I'm not looking to upgrade my PC - I have a decent enough PC at the moment, so there it likely to be little or no need to upgrade. I also like to see the system specs before release as it will indicate if there are any aspects of my system that may require an upgrade and give a general kind of idea as to how well SWTOR will run.
Regarding site features, I guess that a lot of things will depend on what information will be made available by Bioware (character/guild information for example - I like being able to view character information at lunch times at work and ponder on upgrades etc), and whether there will be item/quest databases for perusal and general information. I assume that there will be an increase in the number of articles relating to the game in general, such as updates, patches and blue posts; I also like reading articles relating to specific classes (or possibly advanced classes in this case), professions, PvP, Warzones, raids and major quests in general perhaps. Daily or weekly screenshots. Reviews of machinima, fan art etc. Advice on guild management, making money at the auction house. Maybe stuff dedicated to the story and exploration aspects of the game. A daily or weekly general Q and A perhaps. I think that's about it for new site stuff!
A question for you as well - aside from raids and/or dungeons, PvP and professions, what other activities can you envisage being made available?

The output to an amp would generally be better, but wouldn't necessarily allow for some of the more advanced EAX type features, for example, or for doing the wizardy stuff to increase the quality of compressed audio (Crystalizer type functionality). Also, the Asus Xonar Xense comes with a headphone preamp built in and requires a molex power connector for the soundcard; the headphone output is a 5mm socket as well - it is designed for a higher quality audio experience than the standard sound outputs.Posted in: Podcast

Any of the mid-build onwards listed above will be fine, just make sure the graphics cards has HDMI out and you'll be good to go...Posted in: Podcast
