Noxxic's talent build and rotation are suboptimal at best, though the stat weights are fairly accurate.  I've never seen good information on there since the site launched.

There are a couple theorycrafting threads on the official forums in the tanking role forum.  Here's the most comprehensive one for sin/shadow

Also I'd suggest watching mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums for when they update their compendiums for 2.0.

The set is a random world drop from Belsavis and Voss.  If you want to farm it rather than get it from the GTN I'd buy lockboxes from those planet vendors and do the H4 on belsavis as well as the bonus series h2s.

Only this site says credits, nowhere on the official site does it mention a payment method.  Also previously in a dev post it was mentioned that these things were coming to the cartel market in early summer, so I suspect that they are, in fact, going to be cartel coin transactions.

Very interesting, considering that they said a while back that Cathar would be a cartel market item.  Perhaps this new faction is yet another cartel market rep faction to go with the new packs.  That, or the vendor/faction that your dataminer uncovered is just a dev tool to acquire the new items without interacting with other systems for internal testing.  Both make sense to me.

Bioware is the developer, Electronic Arts is the publisher, the only thing LucasArts did was sell them the license to use the Star Wars name.

  • posted a message on Focus and Generators?

A Focus is an offhand 'weapon' for force users, it provides the same stats as a second lightsaber would for classes that aren't designed to dual wield.

A Generator serves the same purpose for tech users.  The difference is that a focus has 'force power' as an attribute while a generator has 'tech power', they affect different things. To keep force users from using tech items or vice versa they have different weapon types.

A shield is for tanks, it allows them to block incoming attacks, but has less force power or tech power as a trade off.

If you're a damage dealer or a healer you'll want to use a generator or focus, depending if you use tech or force.  If you're a tank you'll want to use a shield that has the appropriate stats for your class.

Hope this didn't confuse you further.

It should last for 2 weeks again, then be gone for a couple weeks again, and repeat that cycle.

  • posted a message on Developer Blog: Cartel Reputation

Half of my guild was disturbed about this yesterday, the GM almost unsubbed while reading the patch notes.  This is one step too close to the STO model of all endgame gear coming from gambling boxes, and it means that reputation completionists need to either spend hundreds of dollars on cartel coins or need to spend tens of millions of in-game credits on boxes from the GTN.

The second that they so much as have a shell with 1 extra base force or tech power I'm unsubbed.

  • posted a message on Healer Guide?

Try http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/ It's a site like Elitist Jerks was for WoW, lots of theorycrafting with a general summary at the start of each thread.  You can get your basics from the initial writeup, then if you want to know more detail you can dig through the thread posts.

Sorcerer/Sage has good sustained single-target healing, strong aoe healing, but doesn't handle burst healing well. (better burst and even more aoe coming in 2.0)
Mercenary/Commando excels at single-target healing, both burst and sustained, but doesn't have much aoe healing at present (they're getting better aoe in 2.0).
Operative/Scoundrel has excellent single-target burst, moderate single-target sustain, and decent aoe healing, but requires more micro-management than the other 2 classes.  Also the most fun to play of the three in my opinion. (better single-target sustain coming in 2.0)

The basic priority of healing though is to play whack-a-mole with your group's health bars and throw in damage when you have a chance to.  Make sure the tank won't die, then heal yourself, then heal the dps.  Questing as a healer is slower, but it's as close to "god mode" as you can get in this game.  Just have a tank companion out and you'll be able to solo most heroic missions.  PvP as a healer will either be the best or worst experience of your gaming.  If the other team leaves you alone you'll be able to carry your team, if they're smart and mark you then you'll be focus fired the moment you get near the fighting.

As far as what you're expected to do by pug dps, you may as well try to solo the content.  Good dps will kill off the weakest enemies first, up to the strongest, while the tank keeps the attention of the strongest ones.  The average pug dps usually tunnel vision on the strongest enemies and leave the half-dozen weak ones to beat on you.  You'll get good at rotating defensive cooldowns, managing your resources, focus-healing multiple players simultaneously, etc, or you'll quit healing.

I have an orange twilek that's dark v, and it's skin appears white.  It should be the same for the Zabrak.
