You make a lot of good points Kraxis. The competitive nature of end-game operations kinda limits what content Bioware can create, but I understand why it is necessary and why it makes the most sense (financially, etc.). It will be interesting to see how the slight differences in mirror classes across the factions (BH v TR, SM v IA) play out in operations. The classes seem more mirrored than say, horde-only shamans and alliance-only paladins pre-bc - so I think the differences will be negligble.
I still would like to see some end-game faction-specific content. To have all of the pre-end-game content be faction-specific and then have all of the end-game content be shared would be disappointing. It wouldn't have to be on the level of operations - maybe repeatable quest hubs, flashpoints, etc.

I hope there will be some faction-specific operations. A faction-specific operation, in my opinion, would revolve around one faction going into an operation and directly fighting the opposite faction (NPCs obviously) - not each faction fighting a shared enemy for different reasons.Posted in: Endgame PvE
Obviously there are challenges to overcome with regards to both building them (more time and money to build multiple operations) and balancing them in-game (loot, difficutly, etc.), but engaging in faction-specific operations makes a lot of sense from a story perspective. The heart of the conflict of Star Wars is Empire v Republic, not Empire / Republic vs Third Party.
Creating only shared endgame operations would do players some serious injustice. I use the word injustice because Bioware is known for its storytelling - the developers have a great opportunity to tell unique faction-specific stories in a large-scale fashion that keep the main conflict at the forefront. Most fans would agree that the best Star Wars stories and adventures revolve around the central conflict of Emp v Rep. I think a healthy mix of shared and faction-specific operations would be awesome.
There are obviously faction-specific lower level flashpoints, 4 of the 5 on the Flashpoints Game Systems page are faction-specific. Yet the end game flashpoint on the page (Directive 7) is for both factions. I remember reading an interview in which a developer says that there will most likely not be faction-specific operations, but I could be wrong. Nonetheless, I get a subtle vibe that Bioware will not create faction-specific operations. But I hope they do and I have faith that they can pull it off.

Aside from the answer about the world devoted to pvp, that was a very lackluster Q&A. Can't believe some of those crappy questions.Posted in: SWTOR News

We can probably now match the 4 unknown ships with the 4 remaining classes. In the shot with the 4 boxed, unknown ships, I bet the top one belongs to the bounty hunter. And the bottom row of 3 unknown ships, from left to right, Imperial Agent - Trooper - Smuggler.Posted in: SWTOR News
