  • posted a message on Bugged Cartel Items + No Support for Preferred = Mad Player

Thanks for putting this on the official forums, much appreciated.  I have actually emailed support@swtor.com 3 times.  Everytime, it was the same copy/paste.  I'll copy it below.  I've also called them twice.  On every call, they inform me that preferred customers get no in-game support.  Also, they tell me that they can't even do anything because that kind of support is done through email and tickets (oh yeah, I also don't have access to sending tickets, the button is greyed out).

So last week I bought the account legacy title unlock.  It bugged and it didn't go through.  After sending an email, and calling Bioware, they informed me that I can get no support, even for bugged items that they received money for.  I was angry, but I moved on.

Now just today, I bought  the weekly space pass.  Again, I used it, the item disappeared, and no space missions.  Again, email and phone, they won't help me.  What kind of scam are they running here?  They receive money, I don't get my product, and they ignore me after.  I don't know what to do anymore.  (obviously not buying anything else is the first thing that I'm doing)

The loot bags might actually change nothing except that the system will distribute loot instead of guild leaders. 2 Scenarios, each with 10 man raids (for easy math) and 10% drop chance for your desired item (again for easy math)

Scenario 1 (old loot system - item drops from bosses + badges)
You have 10% chance that your item drops. You always get a token. The boss always drops loot + tokens

Scenario 2 (loot bags - speculation since we don't know how these work yet)
Let's say each bag holds a 10% chance of having an item when you click on it. In this case, you still have 10% chance of your item dropping for you. There is the possibility that more people get loot (example 2 people get items). There is also the possibility that no one in the raid gets any item. In this last case, the boss only drops tokens. It is also possible that this happens a few times during a raid. This would actually slow progression, contrary to what people say.

We can see that it is possible that the old way and the loot bags can have 2 statistically same loot tables. You can have the exact same chance of getting items with both systems. The problem is not with either system, but how it is implemented. The loot bags can be tweaked much easier though with many variables. For example, duplicate drops can be eliminated, or certain items can be dropped more easily for certain classes while others are rarer.

In the end, the loot bag only eliminates drama, and the responsibility of guilds of distributing loot and dealing with the headaches due to this. Again, it is possible that nothing else, statistically, chances.
