Hm, well I can see where you are getting with your idea of community, however, nowadays it is more like a grind to find a group member rather than fun. Actually it is lik looking for those wolf pawns that not every wolf drops. You whisper one person in the LFg List, nothing, back, another character, another, over and over until after maybe 10 attemtps one writes back "stfu n00b" Followed by a "lol! GS under 5k? l2p!" So yeah, you do lose interest in thise meaning full and friendly interaction on the server and rather have the thing done and your quests finsiehd instead of putting up with such people.
Maybe it was different on your server... and in your mmos, but generally looking for someone with the normal people finder was quite dissatisfactional and wasted lots of time. the LFG model is fast, efficient and quite nice for people who like that system. Nobody does force you to use it of course, you can still gather a group the good way of spamming in the Main City Trade channel.
I also do not want to hear about his or hers dog being sick when I am in a raid or an instance. Go there, do the job, leave. If you want to talk, that is great, we can do that later on while questing together. Oh, I am not in that phase of the quest, I still need to kill the 20 minor warriors before I can go and kill the schamans, you could help me with it so we can do the rest of it toge.... *player left your party* awww.

Ah well, Star Trek will go F2P soon, guess I will use that to ease some of the Sci-Fi MMO need until SWTOR is released in Spring-Summer 2012, a bit later for Europe of course, since... WoW did it too.Posted in: SWTOR News

Uhm, just to get this right. You did not know, that buying another, living, sentient being, and forcing "it to dance in some cheap bar, with barely any clothes on, and forward the money she earns to you, would be considered dark side? O.oPosted in: General Discussion
As for the respecc, well respecc should be in the game. We all know these patches that suddenly nerf our tree, forcing us to reskill our self totally in order to be useful again. Dualspecc is mostly just convenient. At least I tended to have one level/solo/grind Specc and one Healing Specc. Guess I can live without it, if the game is designed in a way, that allows solo play with each class, in each specc. But then again, if the speccs do not matter, why have them at all?

Well, just for the record, you can loot max tier equipment. So if they are sold in the Store (unlikely, but possible) their statement would still be true, since you can get the stuff in game.Posted in: General Discussion
Well, lets wait until Nov-Dec and find out yourself, when they offer access to the shop for 20 Euro/Dollars to not CE owners... Well, that is, if by then there still will be a Dollar.

I do not know, having rRevan fall back to the dark side again? Meh, rather take a new character and do it, I do not want that "Good, then evil, then good again and now evil once more" kind of character in SWTOR. How often can you change sides? What's next? Revan going to some remote Ice planet, building a castle there an sittnig on his throne waiting for the Heroes to come and beat him?Posted in: Jawa Garbage Dump
As for "the Darkness" it could also be Abeloth he is battling. Then again there are so many "dangerous things" in the maw, you can alwas come up with something new.

Hm, I doubt it will be quite as boring and slow as said. You can send your companions on diplomacy missions, while paying lowbies Credits so they party you and you can quickly run their 10 quests with them, breezing through content and getting the Ligt/darkside Points from their dialogs. At least it should be possible if you consider how the system was currently designed.Posted in: Class Think Tank
What in some way would be a good mechanic, making people help new players more likely.

Yeah, no problem with multiboxing, as long as you input the commands directly into each process, no keycloning, no botting. I mean Accoutns you can pay as many as you want, I even say you can run it as often as your computer can run it, or use 2, 3, 10 PCs running beside each other. After all your money, your accounts.Posted in: General Discussion
I am not against botting to be honest. If I have to let my char run in circles killing MOBs and I need that to actually advance in the game, there better be an option to automate it. Rather have it done while I sleep and then do the quests and dialogs when awake instead of wasting 2 evenings with 1-1-1-2-3-1-1-4-1-2-1-3-1-1-6-1-4... rotations while zombified looking at the screen, killing the xth enemie because the Class quests need me to be level 30, though I am only 29,4.

And if everything else fails, you can always wipe his memory, make him crash on a planet besieged by some sith armada, where he has to gain the support of some local clans in order to be allowed to race their pot and save some Jedi from imprisonment. Chances are though, that he will turn evil again at the end, without any obvious reason.Posted in: General Discussion

Well, do not forget what nice opportunities of Alignment Grind this system offers. New Content? Oh my that Dark armour is so much better then the light one for healing... off we go grinding dark side point daily quests to get from Light... IV? to Dark IV, what will take some time and keep my happy and busy, until it all is reversed at the next patch.Posted in: Class Think Tank
Ninjas are always there and if they only roll on green and above to train their disenchanting equivalent for TOR, don't really think they need a reason now. Would be nice if there were a system that does not allow need, if there is another party member with the fitting class (and specc) for it with you, which basically is what Steelsoul said above.
6/14/2011 5:12:38 AM
Well, in your average MMO you always get the Scavanging/Disenchanting skill to turn useless equipment into something people might need, have not spotted anything like that in SWTOR so far...Posted in: Endgame PvE
