On the outside, Star Wars: The Old Republic may seem like a traditional good versus evil conflict between the Republic and the Empire. But much like an office environment, there are many more factions, relationships, traditions and passive-aggressive memos involved in the grand scheme of things. Let’s take a look at some of the potential conflicts one may find during the Old Republic era.

Lore Update: Imperial Agent

Most of the classes in Star Wars: The Old Republic are strongly represented in both the movies and the Expanded Universe. However, the Imperial Agent is a mysterious anomaly; they work in the background and rarely make their presence directly known. While BioWare did not invent the concept of Imperial Intelligence agents, they are the first to explore this role as part of a dedicated storyline. Last week we examined that Bounty Hunter, now join us in taking a closer look at the spies and snipers of the Sith Empire. -
PC Gamer UK Reveals Cyborg Playable Species
Update: It appears the list PC Gamer UK saw in the latest build is inaccurate. Daniel Erickson
Hey Folks,
The species/class combo list you're referencing is not accurate. If it does appear in the magazine, that's unfortunate.
My guess is that an enthusiastic member of the press wrote down everything he saw in the character creation screen which, as we've stated often, is nowhere near final. Occasionally we'll have species in odd classes or in all classes because of a bug or testing.
Hope that helps!
Daniel
As with any game in development, everything in any current or past build is subject to change. It is important to note that no species/class combination is final until BioWare announces it. Thanks to Gerbo and Meglivorn for pointing out Daniel Erickson's comment in the Dev Tracker. -
Lore Update: Chiss

Deep beneath the frozen planes of Csilla, the Chiss homeworld, lies something both remarkable and invaluable. Located in Csaplar, the planet's capital city, is the Chiss Expeditionary Library. The blue-skinned, red-eyed near-humans' thirst for knowledge drives the Chiss Expansionary Fleet to study and record every minute detail of their exploratory patrols and store them in this vast library. The element that makes this collection more extraordinary than other literary archives across the galaxy is the fact that all of the volumes contained within are entirely hand written in books to keep them from deletion by ice storms as their early archives were. What drives a species to care so much about their neighbors and how does this influence their decision to become the Sith Empire's first allies? -
Friday Update: Fan Friday & Blood of The Empire Issue 5
In regards to the delay of this week's update, we sympathize with Sean Dahlberg of BioWare regarding post-E3 travel: Sorry, we had a very early flight and had to leave the hotel at 4:30am this morning. I'm getting a few things together and then we'll post our final wrap up for this Fan Friday that shows a little of the War Zones, Chiss Imperial Agent, and Twi'lek Smuggler.
Two new screenshots of a male Twi'lek Smuggler and a female Chiss Imperial Agent are on the official site, while the rest are the War Zone shots that were part of the E3 press package. Also, we were treated to the latest issue of Blood of The Empire.
In our own Hater version of Fan Friday, a reader submitted their recreation of the Deceived trailer that we had to share with you:
