Given that a greater amount of players are now level 50 and spending additional time with Crew Skills, maps and guides to gathering node locations are becoming more important. When starting new alts to farm gathering materials for Crew Skills, resource maps can be extremely useful in speeding the rate of acquisition for raw components. Our intention is to begin assisting the hunting-gathering player base with a means of locating and identifying all known nodes on each planet. For our third installment, we cover the Bioanalysis nodes of Coruscant.

Today's Datacron guide is for the planet Coruscant. This is a Republic-only planet so Sith players will not have access to the planet or its Datacrons. For the Sith equivalent, see our guide on gathering all the Datacrons on Dromund Kaas. Check past the break for a map of Datacrons on Coruscant, coordinates, and a video guiding you to reach each one.

Fan Site Summit: Coruscant Impressions
Coruscant is the first planet Republic players will reach after completing their origin world. It is, by comparison, much larger in scale and size than either Ord Mantell or Tython. The first thing that players will experience on Coruscant is the Senate Tower and Plaza area; the social hub of the world and the location for all the primary trainers; crew skill contacts; vendors; and associated support NPCs. The skill respec contact is here, as well as the Galactic Trade Network terminals -- TOR's version of the auction house. Beyond the mundane functions this area provides, it also serves as the primary introduction to the scale that TOR uses.

Faction Lore: Jedi Council

The grandeur of being a Jedi Knight is one of the most alluring and respected callings in the entire galaxy. Children want to be them; adults thank the Force for them. Jedi Masters -- particularly those on the Jedi Council -- are even more revered. -
Lore Update: Humans

One of the most iconic and memorable settings in Star Wars: A New Hope is the Mos Eisley cantina. Luke and Ben come in from the wilderness and find a myriad of sentient beings of all shapes and sizes: Rodians, Duros, Bith, Yam'rii, Lamproids, Givin, and more greet the pair as they enter. The sudden profusion of alien (to human eyes) diversity helps introduce the Galaxy as a vast place full of hundreds of species. Why is it, then, that humans seem to have such a disproportionate share of the leadership roles and positions of power in the Old Republic? Join us after the jump as we delve into the history of the humans of Star Wars in an attempt to get to the bottom of this mystery. -

DevTracker Highlights February 10, 2011
BioWare does not disappoint in their post count for this week's DevTracker Highlights. Lead Writer Daniel Erickson talks vague narrative timelines and how the Sith don't see themselves as evil, but everyone else does. Principal Lead Combat Designer Georg Zoeller dives into Flashpoints, weapon flourishes, the use of instancing on planets, misconceptions about base class and advanced class abilities, and the MMO design with concerns to testing and feedback. Lead Systems Designer Damion Schubert explores how real world economics translates to in-game economies. All this and more continued after the jump. -
Planets Overview

The Star Wars galaxy is filled with thousands of planets, from barren wastelands to thriving city-planets. The announced planets for Star Wars: The Old Republic are a well-chosen cross section of this diverse spectrum. Friday Update: Fan Friday, Studio Insider, and Community Q&A

This week's Friday Update brings a Fan Friday and a Studio Insider. The Fan Friday features a good selection of avatars, wallpaper, emoticons, and other goodies, while the Studio Insider goes into depth about the design of Coruscant.
The second Community Q & A thread also opened, and once again questions are open, so feel free to head over and ask the developers about whatever parts of The Old Republic you want to hear about. More than a few hot button issues were answered in the Q & A, most notably one on PVE and PVP servers. DevTracker posts after the jump. -

Jedi Immersion Day: General Information Learned
Carefully examining and dissecting content for Star Wars: The Old Republic is the keystone of our work at Darth Hater. This meticulous approach is seen throughout our articles, but it becomes even more pronounced when we are actually playing the game. At both E3 and PAX this year we examined many of the nuts and bolts of SWTOR, but there is always more to find. The following is our list of new general notes from our multiple hours of gameplay at last month's Jedi Immersion Day. - Page 1: Group Flashpoint, Republic Class Notes, General Tython/Coruscant Impressions
- Page 2: User Interface, Codex System, Quest system
- Page 3: World Quests, Emotes, Itemization, Companions, Audio, AI
Update: A correction was made regarding our notes about Multiplayer Dialog Party Chat after notification from Principal Lead Combat Designer Georg Zoeller.A correction to their notes regarding party chat.
Party chat is in fact available during multiplayer dialog (or any dialog), so you can coordinate with your group on what choices to pick. This is an MMO after all, so even during cutscenes and dialogs you will retain the ability to communicate in chat.
We apologize for the error in that segment. -

Friday Update: Peace for the Republic Timeline Video
Today's update is the seventh entry in the Timeline series, entitled "Peace for the Republic?" The centuries immediately preceding the Great War were thought to be one of the most peaceful eras in Republic history. As he dives deeper into the galaxys history, Master Gnost-Dural discovers new evidence that suggests the dark influence of the Sith Empire was seeping into the Republic even then. Gnost-Durals latest report isolates one historical incident which suggests there was a Sith Lord pulling strings within the ranks of the Jedi decades before the war even began.
BTC 103 - More than a century before the Sacking of Coruscant, two Jedi scholars embarked on a journey which became one of most inexplicable mysteries of its time. Young Jedi Knight Eison Gynt joined his Master in a mission to investigate the Ancient Sith Temple of Yavin 4. On Yavin, the pair was attacked by the native Massassi and driven into the Tomb of Naga Sadow where a powerful force of darkness emerged. Gynts Master returned to Coruscant wounded and half-insane, remorseful that young Eison Gynt had been killed in the chaos. Years later, however, Gynt returned from Yavin on his own and attacked his former Master. Gynt was killed and all assumed that he had been tainted by the darkness on Yavin 4 and returned to Coruscant for revenge. Nonetheless, the truth, as Master Gnost-Dural has discovered, may have been far more sinister.
Watch the latest Timeline holorecord, Peace for the Republic?, narrated by actor Lance Henriksen.
You can also download a high resolution version of this video.
There are several interesting references to note in this edition of the timeline. The Sith temples of Yavin IV feature predominantly and Naga Sadow is also a key player in this timeline entry. There is also intriguing artwork of the Star Forge in the parting shot.
