Among those changes are a fix for the companion hide helmet option, crew skill missions returning the expected amounts of materials, weekly missions again being obtainable, fixes to the GTN, and once again being able to right-click on players' names in the chat window.
Just wanted to let you know that tomorrow's maintenance should bring in a lot of fixes to some of the top issues seen with 1.4. We're aiming to fix the top-reported issues found here, but keep in mind that with any update, a variety of factors could influence successful implementation. During this morning's patch deployment, servers did not have to come down while BioWare released an update to the wild. While it isn't a big one, the fixes included should be a welcome addition to Star Wars: The Old Republic players experiencing performance issues.
- Improved performance for players using NVIDIA graphics cards in an SLI configuration. (Please use the default SLI setting or AFR2, as AFR1 will result in poor performance with SWTOR.)
- Corrected an issue that could prevent players from exiting their personal starship after completing Group Finder content.

After the deployment of Game Update 1.4, fans of Star Wars: The Old Republic noticed bugs associated with the new patch. In an effort to surface the bugs with workarounds, BioWare updated their known issues thread on the official forum. The list is a bit long but we collected it in this post after the jump for those interested in finding out more.
After servers returned from the unscheduled maintenance window this morning, a new patch also came online for players to download. This update includes only one entry that involves the GTN.

Two separate updates accompanied today's update, a new Developer Blog from James Ohlen and Terror From Beyond trailer. In the first, James Ohlen speaks about the release schedule for new content going forward for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
This Game Update is also the start of a new release cadence. Our strategy so far has been to release big updates every few months. But this leaves long periods of time where you, our fans, don’t have anything new. So we’re moving to a model where we release Game Updates on a much more regular cadence. Our initial aim is for something as close to every six weeks as we can get. I’d promise an exact schedule, but in a live game we need some flexibility as the stability of the service trumps the release of an update on a particular date.
This year has been exciting so far with three Game Updates. But before the end of the year, it’s our intention to have released another three Game Updates, starting with Terror From Beyond. This is in addition to moving to Free to Play. But I can say in all honesty, that our plans for 2013 are even bigger. Our team’s experience, improving tools and better production processes are allowing us to move faster in development than we ever have before. More exciting news to come!

Moments ago, BioWare announced that Game Update 1.4: Terror From Beyond is on its way to release early tomorrow morning. Along with the announcement came a new scheduled maintenance post that replaces the postponement of Tuesday's regular window.
Hello everyone, we wanted to let you know that we will be performing scheduled maintenance for six hours on Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 from 2AM CDT (12AM PDT/3AM EDT/8AM BST/9AM CEST/5PM AEST) until 8AM CDT (6AM PDT/9AM EDT/2PM BST/3PM CEST/11PM AEST). All game servers will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than six hours, but could be extended.
Travel to the Gree controlled planet of Asation, where you’ll join others in an intense series of battles leading up to a final face-off against an unyielding enemy. It’s up to your team to close the Ancient Hypergate, opened by the deadly and malicious Dread Masters, and destroy a galactic goliath before it destroys the galaxy! Learn more about Game Update 1.4 here!
After this maintenance is over, restart the game launcher to patch to Game Update 1.4.
