I am sure we all know what guild housing is and how it operates in other games, such as LotRO or Guild Wars, but let's explore this aspect in the Star Wars setting. There are two ways in which I could see guild housing being implemented, if it is at all. Either it could be designed as a literal house or building on an already designed planet, such as Korriban or Coruscant, or it could be put on a separate, just for guild halls planet. But not only that, perhaps it would much more convenient to allow guild housing upon ships, instead of planet(s). -
Guild Hall changes start Monday
Amy Crider posted an update on the recently announced Guild Hall changes: Hi Everyone,
We've heard your feedback and are ready to make some changes to the Guild Hall starting on Monday.
Our main goals for the previous changes to the Guild Hall were to organize guilds in an easier-to-find format and prevent the massive amounts of spam and bump posts that guilds were creating in the recruitment section. We want you to have an environment where you can easily communicate with fellow Star Wars: The Old Republic fans and build and reinforce your guild for the games launch.
Since you've all pretty much stated that you enjoyed having Guild Recruitment sub-forums, we are bringing back the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic recruitment sub-forums and adding a new Undecided sub-forum. While we did play around with the idea of making these sections fully moderated in order to stay nice and clean, we decided that we were going to see how the forums develop with a more detailed rule-set in place. Well get to the rules later, but there are other changes to talk about.
The new Guild Recruitment sub-forums will be created from scratch. Were sorry if you wanted to keep your old posts, but we need to start with a fresh clean forum and get rid of the bumped and spammed posts that clogged up the old sub-forums. Well make sure to strongly enforce the new rules so that everyone knows what is and is not acceptable. Again, we apologize if you wanted to keep a specific post, we promise that this is for the greater good of the Guild Hall
No changes will be made to the Looking for Guild thread and the main section of the Guild Hall; only previous Guild Recruitment threads will be removed.
Now onto the new rules - which are basically the old rules, but a bit more specific . These will be posted in a sticky in each of the recruitment threads. If you have any questions about what is or is not appropriate, please let us know and we will clarify or add it to the list.

GUILD RECRUITMENT RULES & GUIDELINES
This section is used for Guild Recruitment discussion only. Please use this section as a recruitment tool and not a general chat thread for your guild. If you would like to create a chat thread for your guild, please do so in the Off Topic forums.
This section is specifically for guilds that are recruiting. If you are looking to join a guild, please use the Official Looking for a Guild thread found in the main Guild Hall area.
If you are looking for a guild, please make sure to follow the instructions in the desired guild's recruitment thread before posting. Some guilds require that you apply in a certain format, including posting in their private forums. Practice good judgment before divulging any personal information about yourself.
Duplicate postings, spam, bumping and trolling posts are not allowed and will be removed and the user may be warned or given infractions.
Bashing of other guilds or attempting to cross-advertise will not be tolerated.
Please remember that the quality of your posts is more important than the quantity.
Examples of good posts topics inside your guild thread: Website upgrades, new member announcements, questions from non-members, guild meetings or gatherings, and answers to guild inquiries.
Examples of bad post topics inside your guild thread: Guild chatter Has anyone seen X movie or played X game?, bump posts, negative posts about other guilds, repeated posts about the same topic.
As always, please keep your postings constructive and on topic. If you have any questions about the Guild Recruitment Rules and Guidelines, please feel free to send a private message to a moderator, or email bwacommunitysupport@bioware.com.
Good luck with your guild recruitment -
Update on the Guild Hall changes
Amy Crider posted an update about the current progress on the recent Guild Hall changes: Hi All,
Just to let you know we are still planning to change the Guild Hall forums. We are currently in the process of determining if the (fully) moderated approval system is actually the best method to go with. We may just elaborate more rules and guidelines for the recruitment areas and ensure that everyone works within them. We plan to have the new system up and running, including the new Undecided section, next week and will give you any updates if that changes.
Thank you for all of your feedback and we hope that we've come to a place where guilds feel like they can recruit and promote without having to deal with constant bumps and spammers. -
Guild Hall forums being phased out
