Tuesday will mark day one of Early Access for many players in Star Wars: The Old Republic. In preparation for heading out into this expansive new world, Darth Hater compiled a list of all of TOR's available Flashpoints. Whether you're a regular visitor that knows this stuff already or a newcomer looking for resources as you begin your early access, this guide will get you acquainted with the game's Flashpoints in time for launch. Star Wars: The Old Republic's Cory Butler, Associate Producer, took some time out of his hectic schedule to speak briefly with Darth Hater about the game testing program and handling tester feedback. He also broadly addressed other initiatives the developers are taking to reassure potential players about The Big Day.

What is your role at BioWare on Star Wars: The Old Republic?

Cory Butler: I'm an Associate Producer at BioWare. My primary role is to serve as the liaison to BioWare/EA and LucasArts/Lucasfilm. I work closely with everyone to make sure everyone is involved with the creation process of the game. And then my secondary responsibility is to help manage our external testing and live services of the game.

Saturday Update: Taral V Developer Walkthrough

As promised by Stephen Reid, BioWare released a new video today showcasing the Taral V Flashpoint. The 16 minute video features Director of Production Dallas Dickinson as he walks us through the flashpoint from the point of view of the Trooper, Jedi Consular, Jedi Knight, and Smuggler.

Working Dissection of the walkthrough is in the Media Gallery below. As with all dissections, we will not comment on stuff seen in prior videos. Friday Update: Flashpoint Update

Today's Friday update focuses on Flashpoints. Players participating in the Flashpoints work together to achieve victory. BioWare announced five Flashpoints available to players of varying level and affiliations. These include The Esseles and Taral V for the Republic, The Black Talon and Boarding Party for the Empire and Directive 7 for both groups. Directive 7 takes place end game.

Flashpoint Taral V Trailer

During the Esseles Flashpoint, an early-on event, players defend a covert Republic transport from the Imperials. The Imperial early game Flashpoint, The Black Talon, requires players to deal with a captain ignoring his orders of attack. During Taral V, which players encounter mid-game, an important Jedi needs rescue. The Empire's mid-game Flashpoint uses a similar theme, only instead of trying to free a prisoner, players need to recapture an escaped one. Both Republic and Imperial players work to stop a droid-led revolution during Directive 7. DevTracker post continues after the jump. Gamespot revealed a new flashpoint trailer: Taral V, intended for players level 32 or higher. Your Republic team must rescue an important Jedi prisoner. Gamespot conducted an interview with World Designer, Jesse Sky. When asked about the game's state, Sky said, "Development is going very well, and were all happy to be heading into our homestretch." For our take on the contents of the Flashpoint Taral V Trailer, check the media gallery below for the Working Dissection. Note: As always we will be ignoring things commented on in past dissections.
