The in-game Codex entries are a novel and interesting way to gain a fair amount of experience for a character, as well as to learn a great deal more about the worlds, people, creatures and places in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Beginning this week, DarthHater will be offering a deeper, planet-by-planet look into the Codex series to provide current guides for unlocking each of the codices within SWTOR. We begin on Tython, the most recent Jedi homeworld and a planet with a rich and rather complicated history as it pertains to the Force. Next time we’ll take a closer look at Korriban, home of the Sith Empire and a trove of many entries concerning the darker aspects of the Force. Read on after the jump for a complete walkthrough.

Guide: Tython Datacrons
Today's Datacron guide is for the planet Tython. This is a Republic-only planet so Sith players will not have access to the planet or its Datacrons. For the Sith equivalent, see our guide on gathering all the Datacrons on Korriban. Check past the break for a map of Datacrons on Tython, coordinates, and a video guiding you to reach each one.

Faction Lore: Jedi Council

The grandeur of being a Jedi Knight is one of the most alluring and respected callings in the entire galaxy. Children want to be them; adults thank the Force for them. Jedi Masters -- particularly those on the Jedi Council -- are even more revered. -
Lore Update: Tython

With 17 currently announced planets and moons available to players for exploration, Star Wars: The Old Republic is challenged to deliver not only on the size and scope of these iconic locations, but also on the rich history of each in the mythology of the Star Wars universe. Last month, we brought you an update on the Smugglers Moon of Nar Shaddaa, a location known for its lawlessness and excitement. This month, we focus on Tython; a planet which, until recently, was considered a bastion of peace and enlightenment. -
Planets Overview

The Star Wars galaxy is filled with thousands of planets, from barren wastelands to thriving city-planets. The announced planets for Star Wars: The Old Republic are a well-chosen cross section of this diverse spectrum. While some planets are more politically important than others, each will play its role in terms of both gameplay and story. In this overview, you will find a listing of each planet, its faction allegiance, its terrain, relevant , and a brief look at its history and how the planet connects to the Old Republic timeline.

Interview: Daniel Erickson on The Jedi Classes

We gathered a great deal of information about the Jedi Classes at last month's Jedi Immersion Day for Star Wars: The Old Republic. In addition to playing both the Jedi Knight and Jedi Consular, we were allotted interview time with a couple of the developers. We shared the first of these interviews last month and now we can finally show you the rest. Without further ado, here is our interview with BioWare's Daniel Erickson on the Jedi Classes. -
Jedi Consular Impressions

For fans following Star Wars: The Old Republic, curiosity about the Jedi Consular extends back to learning about them at last year's press event. Thankfully, we were finally able to get our hands on this class at last month's Jedi Immersion Day in San Francisco. After several hours of play time and ten solid levels, we have a much clearer image of what it means to play the Republic's most mystical class. -
Jedi Knight Impressions

LucasArts treated us last month to a full day of Star Wars: The Old Republic at their headquarters in San Francisco. Sado and Orionark leveled a Jedi Knight through Level 10. Read on for an in-depth account of our play session, including our impressions of the class' combat, storyline and companion mechanics.
Warning: We've separated the story section of this article into its own page as it contains spoilers for the entire Tython quest line, so skip it if you'd rather stay in the dark. -
Jedi Immersion Day: General Information Learned
Carefully examining and dissecting content for Star Wars: The Old Republic is the keystone of our work at Darth Hater. This meticulous approach is seen throughout our articles, but it becomes even more pronounced when we are actually playing the game. At both E3 and PAX this year we examined many of the nuts and bolts of SWTOR, but there is always more to find. The following is our list of new general notes from our multiple hours of gameplay at last month's Jedi Immersion Day. - Page 1: Group Flashpoint, Republic Class Notes, General Tython/Coruscant Impressions
- Page 2: User Interface, Codex System, Quest system
- Page 3: World Quests, Emotes, Itemization, Companions, Audio, AI
Update: A correction was made regarding our notes about Multiplayer Dialog Party Chat after notification from Principal Lead Combat Designer Georg Zoeller.A correction to their notes regarding party chat.
Party chat is in fact available during multiplayer dialog (or any dialog), so you can coordinate with your group on what choices to pick. This is an MMO after all, so even during cutscenes and dialogs you will retain the ability to communicate in chat.
We apologize for the error in that segment. -
Stephen Reid Responds to Recent Official Forum Chatter
A recent post on the official forums has been the focus of debate, stemming from two recent articles in Gamestar Magazine. BioWare Online Community Manager Stephen Reid responded to a few points from the articles, specifically regarding open world PvP and NPC diversity. Read the full quote from Stephen after the jump. -
Dissection of Threat of Peace
A few months ago we got a not-so-subtle tip from Rob Chestney that the Threat of Peace webcomic is an important asset for internet detectives following Star Wars: The Old Republic. For us here at Darth Hater, we see it as a relatively untapped well of gameplay and story information, possibly rivaling the Holonet. To this end we thought it might be a good idea to look at some of the more unusual or interesting clues that may be hidden in the art and story of the comic. Hit the jump for a fresh look at the Threat of Peace.

The Jedi Order
The Jedi are a part of the Galactic Republic and will be a playable class, as an alternate to the Sith Warrior. As such, it would be beneficial to understand how and why the Jedi Order operates, to better anticipate what possibilities Bioware might throw at you. Without a further ado, let's get started. -
Nexu, The Space Boar

For those of you that dont know what a Nexu is, it is the cat thing from the Geonosis Arena in Episode II. The Nexu is a predator from the planet Cholganna that would hunt all sorts of arboreal critters. This creature is a very fierce predator and is a popular target for big game hunters. There is also a large bounty on live captures as they are popular for gladiatorial combat. One danger of these creatures is they would be released into the wild by collectors that could not care for them, and they would breed to provide a danger for all people on a planet. There were even packs of these creatures on Coruscant by 130 ABY.
As you can see in some of the gameplay videos, these creatures seem to be your run of the mill wild animals that need to die. How much of a challenge they will be has yet to be seen, but if they live up to their reputation they should be well above average, even for the heroes we are made out to be. How widespread these creatures are is still yet to be determined for Star Wars: The Old Republic. For now it looks like Tython has an infestation and Jedi trainees are left to clean up the mess.
