The day is officially here. As of midnight eastern time, Star Wars: The Old Republic went live. To celebrate, BioWare released a new video documenting the journey from concept to full-fledged game.

Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ has launched! This is an incredibly exciting time for everyone at BioWare and LucasArts, and to celebrate this event we invite you all to watch this launch documentary, “Your Saga Begins.” Watch as members of the Star Wars: The Old Republic development team discuss the many facets of building the game, from bringing life to the epic stories for each class, to hand-crafting the numerous iconic worlds that you can explore!

Sean Dahlberg, Star Wars: The Old Republic Community Manager, posted in the official forum today, giving us a heads up about three new pieces of content for this Friday. This massive update includes a Developer Dispatch, a Developer Blog, and a new issue of the Blood of the Empire webcomic.

GTTV is promoting an exclusive behind the scenes making of a new Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer. The footage will be part of a slew of E3 world premieres set for broadcast this Friday at 11PM. Inside the promo we recognized a few of the team members of Blur, the studio that brought you the original Deceived trailer.

In conjunction with the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles we will be publishing a special edition Fan Friday. As we release new exciting information about Star Wars: The Old Republic, well be updating this article daily to share the big announcements with you. In related industry news, Gamasutra is reporting Epic Games China CEO Paul Meegan is LucasArts' new president, filling the vacancy left by Darrell Rodriguez.

The teaser image for E3 happens to be a logo for the Havoc squad, possibly alluding to the content of the trailer.
