Wookiee Life Day Coming
After updating our DB yesterday with all of the current items included in the PTS patch, we discovered a few items worth covering on their own beyond the Cartel Market. One of these happens to involve a Star Wars-centric holiday event called Wookiee Life Day.
Life Day was a Wookiee holiday celebrated by the inhabitants of Kashyyyk every three years. It was a celebration of the planet's diverse ecosystem and the many forms of life it encompassed. It also was a time to remember family members who had died, and the young ones who continued to bring new life to a family. Life Day was a sacred holiday, and many Wookiees considered it their duty to return to Kashyyyk in order to celebrate it.

It has been a while since we've heard anything regarding BioWare's stance on holiday events but for those who remember, it's not surprising to see events based on the Star Wars IP. Guess we'll have to see when this stuff rolls out, though if Star Wars Galaxies is any ballpark, it will occur during the Christmas holiday season.

Sith Don't Wear Santa Hats

Everyone loves the holidays. Family coming together, putting up decorations, spending loads of money you do not have, and no one can forget the food. It is no wonder game developers try to emulate that in their MMORPGs, where millions of players all around the world come together to participate in the festivities. Holidays can be an important part of an MMO when implemented. It breaks up the monotony, brings people together to experience new content and with new, holiday themed loot. However, with no real holidays in a galaxy far, far away, besides a couple found in the depths of the Expanded Universe it could be a hard one to justify. With BioWare taking a stand against holidays outside Star Wars, what could this mean for them in Star Wars: The Old Republic? We invite you to follow the jump to find out. -
Happy Holidays from Darth Hater!

It's that time of year where all of us head home for the holidays and spread the holiday cheer, opening gifts and eating way, way too much food. Keep your head and feet warm, make sure the Christmas tree isn't too close to the fire, and don't forget that snow banks outside are the perfect place to keep the beer that won't fit in the fridge. Oh, also we've got a special issue of Pro Tips just for you. Enjoy it! Seriously, don't eat too much. I ate too much at Christmas once. My grandmother's dining room walls used to be white.
Happy holidays from all of us here at Darth Hater.
